摘要: A personal, biometric authentication system is disclosed. The system can be used for controlling access to equipment or physical facilities. The system employs the combination of a unique, inherently specific biometric parameter recognized and compared with stored data and at least one non-specific biometric parameter of a physiological characteristic recognized and compared with physiological norms. Positive comparison results in authentication of an individual that is not incapacitated, dismembered, or deceased.

摘要: A method and apparatus for the direct noninvasive prediction of hematocrit in mammalian blood using photoplethysmography techniques and data processing. The method and apparatus also include optional prediction of other analytes of interest: percent oxygen saturation of mammalian blood and methemoglobin of stored blood. The method and apparatus can be used for the immediate, periodic, or continuous noninvasive diagnosis or monitoring of hematocrit levels in mammalian patients without pain to the patient or exposure of the health care practitioner to the blood of the patient.

摘要: A biomedical electrode comprised of a galvanically inert sensing element and a galvanically active interfacing material containing oxidizable and reducible species such as ferrous/ferric sulfate is disclosed. The bioelectrode recovers from overload potentials (e.g., defibrillation potentials) as well as conventional silver/silver chloride electrodes and can be made at a much lower cost from non-corrosive materials.
