Abstract: The present embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present embodiments provide sensor applicators and methods of use with activation that implant the sensor, withdraw the insertion needle, engage the transmitter with the housing, and disengage the applicator from the housing. Systems and methods according to present principles allow for such steps to occur without significant loss of spring force, and without deleterious effects such as seal slingshotting.

Abstract: The present embodiments relate generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present embodiments provide sensor applicators and methods of use with pushbutton activation that implant the sensor, withdraw the insertion needle, engage the transmitter with the housing, and disengage the applicator from the housing, all in one smooth motion. Some embodiments contemplate engagement of the transmitter with the housing after release of the applicator.

Abstract: A method of monitoring compliance with an insulin regimen prescribed for a diabetic patient includes receiving continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data for the patient over a period of time; determining a degree of variability in the CGM data obtained over the period of time; evaluating compliance with the prescribed insulin regimen based at least in part on the degree of variability in the CGM data that is determined; and responsive to the evaluating, causing at least one action to be performed to facilitate a change in patient behavior that increases compliance with the prescribed insulin regimen when compliance is determined to be less than required to optimize therapeutic treatment of diabetes in the diabetic patient.

Abstract: The present embodiments relate generally to applicators of on-skin sensor assemblies for measuring an analyte in a host, as well as their method of use and manufacture. In some aspects, an applicator for applying an on-skin sensor assembly to a skin of a host is provided. The applicator includes an applicator housing, a needle carrier assembly comprising an insertion element configured to insert a sensor of the on-skin sensor assembly into the skin of the host, a holder releasably coupled to the needle carrier assembly and configured to guide the on-skin sensor assembly while coupled to the needle carrier assembly, and a drive assembly configured to drive the insertion element from a proximal starting position to a distal insertion position, and from the distal insertion position to a proximal retraction position.

Abstract: Provided are systems and methods using which users may learn and become familiar with the effects of various aspects of their lifestyle on their health, e.g., users may learn about how food and/or exercise affects their glucose level and other physiological parameters, as well as overall health. In some cases the user selects a program to try; in other cases, a computing environment embodying the system suggests programs to try, including on the basis of pattern recognition, i.e., by the computing environment determining how a user could improve a detected pattern in some way. In this way, users such as type II diabetics or even users who are only prediabetic or non-diabetic may learn healthy habits to benefit their health.
