摘要： A dropper-type DC stabilized power supply circuit is arranged such that a power transistor is connected in series with a power source line, a first difference amplifier compares (i) a feedback value acquired by dividing an output voltage with (ii) a reference voltage. The first difference amplifier controls the base current of the power transistor with reference to the difference above so as to stabilize the output voltage. This DC stabilized power supply circuit is additionally provided with second and third difference amplifiers having respective offset voltages in inputs thereof. When the output voltage surpasses a predetermined voltage level, the second difference amplifier restrains the base current. On the contrary, when the output voltage falls below a predetermined voltage level, the third difference amplifier increases a bias current of the first difference amplifier so as to increase the gain.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image reading device which extracts character images from an original document image read by an image reader. The reading device further extracts an area of predetermined size including a single character from the extracted character images, and detects punctuation marks among characters included in the respective extracted areas based on a distribution of image elements in the respective extracted area so as to discriminate the directional orientation of the character image based on a position of punctuation marks. Alternatively, the reading device detects the presence of white space in the extracted character images so as to discriminate the directional orientation of the character images based on a distribution of the detected white space.

摘要： The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition in a unit dosage form for peroral administration in a human or lower animal, having a gastrointestinal tract comprising a small intestine and a colon with a lumen therethrough having an inlet to the colon from the small intestine, comprising: a. a safe and effective amount of rapidly dissolving bisacodyl incorporated into a compressed, bi-convex tablet, with a maximum diameter of about 4 mm to about 10 mm; b. a non-pH dependent smoothing coat applied to the tablet to provide a smooth tablet surface free from edges and sharp curves; and c. an enteric polymer coating material comprising at least one inner coating layer and only one outer coating layer; wherein the rapidly dissolving bisacodyl is released at a point near the inlet to, or within the colon; each of the inner coating layer(s) is an enteric polymer that begins to dissolve in an aqueous media at a pH between about 5 to about 6.3; and the outer coating layer is an enteric polymer that begins to dissolve in an aqueous media at a pH between about 6.8 to about 7.2.

摘要： In an image forming apparatus having two-face copy mode, an image reader can read a document image placed on a platen along a subscan scan direction and along a direction reverse to the subscan direction. The image reader includes an image sensor for reading a document image along a main scan direction and along a direction reverse to the main scan direction. In the normal image mode and in the reverse image mode, a normal image and a reverse image of a document are formed by controlling the reading direction and the subscan direction. When a stapler is used to staple a plurality of copy papers, but at positions in the papers which are not appropriate to turn over them if normal images are formed on the papers, the reverse image mode is set for forming a normal image of the document. Further, when a back face is printed in two-face copy mode, it is decided if the back face is placed on the platen so that the image in the back face is reproduced as a reversed image to the image in the front page according to document direction (portrait document or a landscape document), a position of margin, and a direction of the document with respect to document feed direction. The scan mode is changed when it is decided that the document is placed on the platen so that the image in the back face is reproduced as a reversed image to the image in the front page.

摘要： A digital copier being provided with a memory function which enables the operator to set a plurality of copying conditions in a single setting operation before copying operations are initiated so that the copying operations are performed in series or in parallel based on the individual copying conditions being set. Even when the copying operations are ongoing, the digital copier also enables the operator to change the setting of the copying conditions such as the number of copies, magnification for copying, and paper size, along with the sorting mode, so that the copying operations are performed based on the changed conditions thereafter. Accordingly, the setting of the copying modes for every copying mode, which has conventionally been required, is not necessary any more. This improves copying efficiency and also realizes flexible operation even when a plurality of copying modes are set, so that the copying function of the digital copier is significantly improved.

摘要： A plurality of index members are arranged at desired positions on an end portion of a platen glass, the members being movable in a scanning direction of a scanner. A black mark is provided on a rear surface of each index member, and the mark as well as the original are read by an image reader, so that the positions of the index members can be detected. When one of the index members is detected as the scanner is moved, the image signals of the original included in the scanning region of the scanner are not outputted until the next index member is detected. In this manner, by continuously outputting image signals only of the desired areas of the original, the column skip edition can be readily and surely carried out.
