Abstract:
A polyvinyl alcohol fiber that can easily be fibrillated at a low manufacture cost is provided. The readily fibrillative polyvinyl alcohol fiber contains a polyalkylene oxide in addition to a polyvinyl alcohol. A mass ratio of the polyalkylene oxide ranges from 3 to 40% relative to the total mass of the polyvinyl alcohol and the polyalkylene oxide. A method for manufacturing the polyvinyl alcohol fiber is also provided.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention generally include apparatus and methods for depositing nanowires in a predetermined pattern during an electrospinning process. An apparatus includes a nozzle for containing and ejecting a deposition material, and a voltage source coupled to the nozzle to eject the deposition material. One or more electric field shaping devices are positioned to shape the electric field adjacent to a substrate to control the trajectory of the ejected deposition material. The electric field shaping device converges an electric field at a point near the surface of the substrate to accurately deposit the deposition material on the substrate in a predetermined pattern. The methods include applying a voltage to a nozzle to eject an electrically-charged deposition material towards a substrate, and shaping one or more electric fields to control the trajectory of the electrically-charged deposition material. The deposition material is then deposited on the substrate in a predetermined pattern.

Hot-melt-adhesive, micro-fibers-generating conjugate fibers (A), hot-melt-adhesive, micro-conjugate fibers (B) and a woven or non-woven fabric using the former fibers (A) are provided. The former fibers (A) have a sufficient tenacity and afford a stabilized spinability. The former fibers (A) have at least one conjugate portion of the conjugate fibers with an island-in-sea structure exposed onto the surface of the conjugate fiber. The sea part in the island-in-sea structure being removed by means of a solvent or the like, with the remaining island part having a fineness of 1 d or less. The other conjugate portion being a fiber composed of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point lower than that of the resin constituting the super-fine fibers and having 0.5 d or more, and the conjugate fibers having 1 d or more in total. The latter fibers (B) are those obtained by removing the sea component from the former fibers (A). The woven or non-woven fabric having micro-fibers prepared by removing the sea component from a woven or non-woven fabric using, the former fibers (A); the former fibers (A) and normal hot-melt-adhesive conjugate fibers; or the former fibers (A) applied thereonto or by subjecting the above formber fibers (A) after removal of the sea component to heat treatment.

Abstract:
This invention relates to a phytoprotein synthetic fibre and the method for the manufacture thereof. This synthetic fibre is composed of phytoprotein and polyvinyl alcohol, the phytoprotein comprising A parts of the two components, where A is equal to or greater than 5 parts and less than 23 parts, and the polyvinyl alcohol comprising B parts, where B is greater than 77 parts and equal to or less than 95 parts. The methods of manufacturing the synthetic fibre comprise a semi-finished product manufacturing process and a semi-finished product acetalization and finishing process. The sequence of processing of the semi-finished product is as follows: taking a spinning dope prepared from proportions of phytoprotein and polyvinyl alcohol, and after deaeration introducing the spinning dope to a wet-spinning frame to undergo wet-spinning; the synthetic fibre output by the spinning frame then entering a coagulant bath, the semi-finished product being obtained after air drafting, wet bath drafting, drying, dry heat drafting and heat fixing. The synthetic fibres produced as a result of the adoption of this method exhibit good breathability characteristics and require a production period of short duration, thus increasing productivity.
