    Abstract: A fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel storage compartment and a pressure chamber from which a reciprocating pump piston delivers fuel to the engine's fuel lines. The fuel conduit between the storage compartment and the pressure chamber can be closed off by an electromagnetic valve. To permit engine operation even when the electrical system is non-functional, the magnetic valve is of the normally open type, held open by a spring. In the energized state, the valve closes off the fuel conduit and its closure is aided by the fuel pressure gradient across the valve.

    Abstract: An rpm regulator of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engine includes a single-arm drag lever and an intermediate lever which are bent to define a space into which a compression spring extends. The stroke of the compression spring is limited in both directions by stops defined by the intermediate lever and the drag lever, respectively. The regulator also includes a control spring arrangement which engages one end of the drag lever, a fuel quantity setting member which engages one end of the intermediate lever and controls due to its movement the quantity of fuel delivered by the fuel pump and an rpm governor which exerts an rpm defendent force against the intermediate lever in opposition to the force of the control spring arrangement. With this regulator the pump can deliver an excess fuel quantity for starting purposes and an automatically reduced normal fuel injection quantity when the rpm increases. This result is accomplished without increasing the dimensions of the fuel pump.

    Abstract: A speed governor of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, having a governor lever for adjusting the fuel injection quantity and a governor spring assembly engaging the governor lever counter to which assembly an rpm-dependent force acts. To compensate for manufacturing tolerances in the governor spring assembly, it is proposed that the effective length of a prestressed governor spring in the governor spring assembly be effected by means of the rotation of a spring plate, in that the spring plate has a sleeve provided with an outer thread, onto which part the governor spring can be threaded. After the rotation of the spring plate, this plate is held in its terminal position, under the influence of the initial stressing force of the governor spring, in a positively engaged connection with intermeshed components which limit the relieving of the governor spring assembly in the other direction.
