    Abstract: This application provides a sidelink positioning method and apparatus. The method may include: A first terminal device receives a first sidelink positioning configuration sent by a network device. The first terminal device sends a first sidelink positioning reference signal to a second terminal device based on the first sidelink positioning configuration, where a position of the first terminal device is determined based on a first measurement value and a position of the second terminal device, and the first measurement value includes a measurement value of the second terminal device on the first sidelink positioning reference signal. According to this method for performing positioning between terminal devices by using a sidelink reference signal, a relative position or an absolute position between terminal devices may be obtained.

    Abstract: This application provides a beam information obtaining method and an apparatus, relates to the field of communications technologies, and resolves a problem that resources of positioning reference signals are wasted because the positioning reference signals need to be omnidirectionally sent because of an unknown direction, of a terminal, caused by use of a beam, when the terminal is positioned in, e.g., a 5G system. The method in this application resolves the problem and saves overheads of sending a reference signal. The method includes: The terminal receives a beam information request sent by a location management device, where the beam information request is used to request the terminal to provide measurement information of a downlink beam. The terminal obtains beam information, where the beam information includes information about a reference signal that is sent by at least one network device and that is measured by the terminal.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a positioning method, an apparatus, and a system, to resolve a problem that high-accuracy positioning cannot be implemented based on existing assistance data. The method includes: a location management device obtains a plurality of assistance data from one or more access network devices, where each assistance data includes one or more groups of mapping relationships corresponding to one or more preset angles, and each group of mapping relationships includes a mapping relationship between each of one or more PRS resource identifiers and power information corresponding to each PRS resource identifier at a corresponding preset angle; the location management device obtains, from a terminal device, power information corresponding to one or more PRS resource identifiers at each of a plurality of to-be-measured angles; and the location management device positions the terminal device based on the plurality of assistance data and the power information.
