摘要: An improved gold diffusion coated shaped copper alloy article is provided by forming a copper alloy with chemical composition in the range 1 to 10% of aluminum and/or 0 to 10% of tin and optionally from 0 to 5% of free machining additives such as lead, selenium, tellurium, silicon, or others, remainder copper, into a desired shape and heating the shaped article to a temperature of from 700.degree.C to 900.degree.C and thereafter quenching the article at a controlled rate either in a gas or liquid quenchant. The shaped and hardened article is then galvanically coated with a layer of gold or gold alloy from 1 to 5 microns thick, and the gold coating diffused into the hardened copper alloy body by heating at a temperature from 400.degree.C to 900.degree.C for from less than one minute to 30 minutes, thereby diffusing the gold into the hardened base copper alloy. The process is particularly useful in forming watch bezels. The heating and quenching of the shaped copper alloy article forms a fine-grained eutectoid duplex two phase structure which is believed to enhance the rate and depth of diffusion and evenness of penetration of the gold layer. Gold coated hardened copper alloy articles of enhanced durability, resistant to corrosion, and having an aesthetically pleasing finish are obtained. In a preferred embodiment, a watch bezel is shaped from copper alloy with chemical composition of 7% aluminum, 7% tin and optionally up to 5% free machining additive such as lead, selenium, tellurium or others, remainder copper which is shaped and machined to the configuration of the watch bezel, heated to 900.degree.C and quenched at a desired cooling rate by means of gas or liquid quench. The shaped article is then galvanically plated with a 5 micron layer of 24 karat gold and the plated article heated at 600.degree.C for 15 minutes.

摘要: Enclosures with grommetless strain relief are provided, each including a base and a cover. The base has a bottom and four sidewalls arranged to provide an open box-like structure. A first of the sidewalls of the base is configured with a wire routing slot at its perimeter. The cover has a top and four sidewalls arranged to provide an open box-like structure configured to couple with the base, so as to provide a strain relief for an electrical wire passing through the wire routing slot. The wire is pressed against a length of the first sidewall of the base by a first sidewall of the cover. The enclosure may include other features, such as rounded edges in the wire routing path, a wire guide and/or strap to inhibit wire movement between the first sidewalls, and/or one or more locking mechanisms configured to secure the cover to the base.

摘要: A bonus game for a slot machine operable in a basic mode and a bonus mode. The bonus game is entered upon the occurrence of a special start-bonus game outcome in the basic mode. In the bonus game, a player selects, one at a time, from an array of windows each associated with a bonus game outcome. Credits are awarded based upon which ones of the windows are selected. The bonus game ends upon selection of a window associated with an end-bonus outcome but otherwise continues, allowing the player to make further selections and accumulate further credits until encountering an end-bonus outcome. In one embodiment, a bonus game resource obtained in the basic game may be exercised in the bonus game to affect the bonus game outcome. In one embodiment, for example, where the occurrence of an end-bonus outcome would otherwise end the bonus game, a player having a bonus game resource may exercise the bonus game resource upon encountering an end-bonus outcome to continue playing the bonus game.

摘要: A system and method for locating a misplaced cellular telephone including sending a signal to the misplaced cellular telephone. The signal directs the misplaced cellular telephone to transition from an inaudible mode to a loud ring mode and, in turn, ring to enable the ready location of the misplaced cellular telephone. In a further aspect, the signal directs the misplaced cellular telephone to ring continuously at maximum volume. Preferably, the method includes generating the signal from a telephone, a remote and/or a computer connected to the Internet.

摘要: Methods are disclosed for producing electrochemiluminescence by electrochemically oxidizing an acridan compound at an electrode in the presence of a peroxide. Maintaining a sufficiently positive potential results in continuous oxidation of the acridan compound to an acridinium compound which reacts with peroxide to produce the luminescence. Light emission can be reversibly and repeatedly cycled on and off by sweeping the potential between two values. The acridan compounds can be provided with a labeling group for linking to an analyte or analyte binding partner. The present electrochemiluminescent reaction can find use in assay methods for detecting analytes by immunoassays and nucleic acid assays.
