    摘要: Photographic elements, film units, processes and alkaline processing compositions are described wherein certain substituted 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidinones are employed as electron transfer agents in color image transfer materials. The silver halide electron transfer agents or precursors thereof have the following formula: ##STR1## wherein: R is hydrogen or a hydrolyzable moiety;R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a hydroxy group;R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represent hydrogen, hydroxy, an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, --NHSO.sub.2 R.sub.5, --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n OR.sub.6, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n OR.sub.6, --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n C.sub.6 H.sub.5, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n R.sub.7, or --O(CH.sub.2).sub.n R.sub.7 ;R.sub.5 is hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms;R.sub.6 is hydrogen or a methyl group;R.sub.7 is NHS0.sub.2 R.sub.5 or SO.sub.2 NHR.sub.5 ; andn is a positive integer of 1 to 2;with the proviso that at least one of R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 must be one of the groups other than hydrogen.

    摘要: A first electro-optic display comprises first and second substrates, and an adhesive layer and a layer of electro-optic material disposed between the first and second substrates, the adhesive layer comprising a mixture of a polymeric adhesive material and a hydroxyl containing polymer having a number average molecular weight not greater than about 5000. A second electro-optic display is similar to the first but has an adhesive layer comprising a thermally-activated cross-linking agent to reduce void growth when the display is subjected to temperature changes. A third electro-optic display, intended for writing with a stylus or similar instrument, is produced by forming a layer of an electro-optic material on an electrode; depositing a substantially solvent-free polymerizable liquid material over the electro-optic material; and polymerizing the polymerizable liquid material.

    摘要: Video displays using relatively low frame rates of about 10 to about 20 frames per second, but having acceptable video quality are described. The displays may use bistable media, and may be driven such that the medium, when driven, changes its optical properties continuously during the driving of each frame. The displays may use an electro-optic medium such that the frame period is from about 50 to about 200 percent of the switching time of the electro-optic medium at the driving voltage used.
