    摘要: Light from a first excitation light source is incident on one facet of a first optical fiber. A core is doped with a first rare earth substance. A resonant section induces light resonance in the core to generate resonant light, thereby providing selected light at the other facet of the first optical fiber. An optical multi/demultiplexer reflects the light of the selected wavelength in a direction different from that of the first optical fiber. A second excitation light source supplies light to the resonant section of the first optical fiber via the optical multi/demultiplexer and the other facet of the first optical fiber. A second optical fiber guides the light of the selected wavelength from the optical multi/demultiplexer to an exterior.

    摘要: An up-conversion laser unit in which a semiconductor laser of high output power can be used as a pump light source and the wavelength of up-converted laser light is suitable for display. The light of infrared wavelength is generated by the pump light source, the generated light being inputted into a Pr3+ up-conversion laser to up-convert there into red light by Pr3+ ion. The up-converted red light is inputted into, as a pump light source, a Tm3+ up-conversion laser, there being up-converted into blue light by the Tm3+ ion. Thereby, efficient up-conversion into blue light is made possible.

    摘要: In an up-conversion laser using Tm, blue light having a wavelength of 450 nm and blue light having a wavelength of 480 nm are outputted simultaneously. A high output is enabled with a high efficiency, and a green up-conversion laser is also realized by a similar means. A hybrid fiber laser apparatus includes a light source which outputs light near a wavelength A, and comprises a means for reflecting light near the wavelength A, which is provided at another end of the optical fiber, thereby to form an optical resonator for the wavelength A. In this hybrid fiber laser apparatus, an up-conversion fiber is provided in the optical resonator for the wavelength A, and optical resonator structures for a wavelength B constructed by reflection means and for a wavelength B are respectively provided at two positions at both ends of the up-conversion fiber. Of the two reflection means, the reflection means in the laser diode chip side is arranged so as to achieve high reflection, and the other reflection means in the other end side is arranged so as to achieve partial reflection, thereby to obtain output light having a wavelength B from the partial reflection side.
