    摘要: Disclosed are magnetic coated nanoparticles comprising magnetic cores coated with silica and an organic stabilizer, the magnetic coated nanoparticles having an average particle diameter of no more than about 1,000 nanometers. Also disclosed is a process for preparing silica-coated nanoparticles which comprises: (a) dispersing magnetic nanoparticle cores in a solvent to provide a dispersion having a pH of from about 1 to about 6; (b) adding to the dispersion of magnetic nanoparticles a solution containing tetraethylorthosilicate; and (c) homogenizing or sonicating the dispersion containing the magnetic nanoparticles.

    摘要: A process for preparing a toner includes forming an emulsion with a buffer solution and an amorphous biodegradable polyester resin represented by Formula (1): wherein each n independently represents an integer of 1 to about 20 and x and y represent respective ratios of respective monomeric units and x ranges from about 0 to about 1000 and y ranges from about 0 to about 300; adding a colorant, a coagulant, and optionally a wax to the emulsion to form a mixture; heating the mixture, permitting aggregation and coalescence of the mixture to form toner particles; and recovering the toner particles.

    摘要: A curable sublimation marking material including at least one curable component and at least one sublimation colorant. Also disclosed is a transfer printing method including applying a curable sublimation marking material in a desired pattern onto a transfer substrate to form an image on the transfer substrate at a first temperature which is below the sublimation temperature of the sublimation colorant; wherein the curable sublimation marking material comprises at least one curable component and at least one sublimation colorant; curing the image on the transfer substrate; and optionally, bringing the transfer substrate into contact with a final image-receiving substrate, optionally applying pressure, and heating to a second temperature which is sufficient to cause the sublimation colorant to sublime and form a permanent image on the final image-receiving substrate.

The resins utilized to form the core, the shell, or both, may be contacted with a water soluble initiator. The resin, in embodiments present in the shell, cross-links at a temperature near the temperature for coalescence, and may prevent a crystalline resin in the core from migrating to the toner surface.

The sulfonated polyester resin may be an alkali metal sulfonated polyester resin, wherein the alkali metal may be sodium and/or lithium. The toner may be formed in an emulsion aggregation process in which an alkali (II) metal salt such as a zinc salt and/or a calcium salt is used as an aggregating agent.
