    摘要： A heat shielding member 20 that thermally shields the periphery of a single crystal 16 used in a Czochralski single crystal pulling device that pulls the single crystal 16 from a melt 15 that is collected in a crucible 10 is disclosed. The heat shielding member 20 is provided with an approximately cylindrical main body portion 21 arranged so as to surround the single crystal 16, with a lower end portion thereof extending to the vicinity of the melt 15, and an approximately annular bottom plate portion 22 that extends in the diameter direction from the bottom end portion of the main body portion 21 to cover the melt. The bottom plate portion 22 is attached to the main body portion 21 in the state of being severed in the circumferential direction at at least one location. With this constitution it is possible to provide a heat shielding member with superior durability and a single crystal pulling device that employs the heat shielding member.

    摘要： According to an aspect of an embodiment, an apparatus for converting text data into sound signal, comprises: a phoneme determiner for determining phoneme data corresponding to a plurality of phonemes and pause data corresponding to a plurality of pauses to be inserted among a series of phonemes in the text data to be converted into sound signal; a phoneme length adjuster for modifying the phoneme data and the pause data by determining lengths of the phonemes, respectively in accordance with a speed of the sound signal and selectively adjusting the length of at least one of the phonemes which is placed immediately after one of the pauses so that the at least one of the phonemes is relatively extended timewise as compared to other phonemes; and a output unit for outputting sound signal on the basis of the adjusted phoneme data and pause data by the phoneme length adjuster.

    摘要： An audio coder that improves audio quality by reducing a quantization error. When a code corresponding to a sampled value of an audio signal is determined, a candidate code storage section stores all combinations of candidate codes in a neighborhood interval of the sampled value. A local decoder generates reproduced signals by decoding the codes stored in the candidate code storage section. An error evaluation section calculates, for each candidate code, a sum of squares of differentials between input sampled values and reproduced signals, detects a combination of candidate codes by which a smallest sum is obtained, that is to say, which minimizes a quantization error, and outputs a code included in the detected combination of candidate codes.
