摘要： A printing apparatus and a print control method which detect a defective printing element in operation failure status while reciprocate-scanning a printhead, and perform appropriate print control such as complementary printing on an unprinted portion by the defective printing element, without reducing the printing speed. An apparatus, to which the method is applied, has a photosensor 8, to detect ink discharge statuses of a plurality of nozzles of a printhead 5, which is provided between a home position of the printhead and the outside of an effective printing area where image printing is to be made. While the printhead 5 is scanned, test ink discharge is performed at the position of the photosensor 8, and the ink discharge statuses of the nozzles are detected by the photosensor 8. A corrector 123 analyzes the operation statuses of the nozzles of the printhead 5 based on the results of detection in a real time manner. A CPU 25 performs print control based on the results of analysis.

摘要： An apparatus for performing the printing by scanning a carriage having a plurality of print heads mounted in a predetermined direction relative to the printing medium, so that an image is formed to have a desired color tone and density without decreased throughput. Conversion data for reproducing the color tone and the scan range of the carriage are changed in accordance with the used heads among the mounted heads. Also, the replaceability can be enhanced and the longer life for each group is attained by grouping the heads mounted. Further, the scan range of recording and the scan range for the recovery can be changed by selecting the group for use in accordance with the recording mode. Also, in an ink jet printing apparatus having a longer print length, a printing method for effecting the stable recording is provided.

摘要： An image recording apparatus for recording an image by using a plurality of recording elements which are driven an accordance with an image signal includes a first correction unit for correcting driving conditions of the recording element, and a second correction unit for correcting a level of the image signal, wherein a variation in the recording elements is corrected by a combination of the first and second correction units. A driving voltage or a width of drive pulse which is applied to each recording element is controlled as a driving condition, thereby making uniform an uneven image density.

摘要： In an ink-jet printing apparatus, upon turning on the power source of the printing apparatus, a stirring operation of ink in the main tank is performed for a given period of time, and during sequent printing operation, the stirring operation in the main tank is performed for the give period at every predetermined elapsed time. By this, the printing operation for a long period can be performed employing ink having a water insoluble dye without causing a problem of admixing of bubble or so forth caused by stirring of the ink in the main tank.

摘要： A fuel-effusion prevention valve includes a first housing member having an evaporation passage, a first engaging portion and a first cylindrical portion, and a second housing member having a partition portion, a communicating passage, a second engaging portion and a second cylindrical portion. The first cylindrical portion is formed so as to extend axially from the first engaging portion, and its diameter is smaller than that of the second engaging portion. The second cylindrical portion is formed so as to extend axially from the second engaging portion. A floating valve is disposed in a chamber so as to be able to open and close the valve hole in response to its buoyancy due to fuel flowing into the second chamber through the communicating passage. The first cylindrical portion is fused with the second cylindrical portion. A circular seal member is fitted into an installation hole formed on the fuel tank and its inner hole is fitted onto the outer circumferential surface of the first cylindrical portion.

摘要： In an image recording apparatus having a recording head, recording may be interrupted (for example, to permit transfer of new image data after a predetermined amount of recording is performed). Recording quality is maintained by compensating for the change in head temperature which occurs during the interruption. This is done by detecting the temperature of the recording head and/or counting the interruption time, and driving the recording head in a stand-by mode or correcting the image signal in accordance with the temperature difference between interruption and resumption of recording.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus records by discharging ink from plural recording heads toward a recording medium. Each of the recording heads has a heat pipe mounted thereon, and protruding therefrom so as to have a length which is greater than the recording width of the corresponding recording head. The protruding portions of each heat pipe extending from the recording heads have a heat discharging member attached thereto. That member constitutes a single blower fan for applying an air stream to the heat discharging members corresponding to the recording head, and plural air stream control means for applying the air stream produced by the blower fan to the heat discharging members individually or independently.
