摘要： Provided is an electrical connector (3) including an insulative housing (20) defining a number of passageways (202) and a number of contacts (1) received in the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each passageway defines a T-shaped cross-sectional configuration including a narrow fastening slot (2021) and a wide receiving slot (2022) communicated with each other. The contact forms a planar medial section (14) interferingly secured in the fastening slot and a dome-shaped bulge (142) projecting from the planar medial section. A lying wall (2024) adjacent the narrow fastening slot correspondingly defines a recess (2023) to receive the bulge. Therefore, the contact can be securely retained in the passageway and free from disengaging or deflecting from the passageway.

The housing includes a base (210) mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB) and a frame (211) surrounding the base, the base and the frame being made of different materials. A pair of bolts (23) is provided for assembling the base and the frame. The base forms a pair of aligning posts (2101, 2102) and a pair of first whorl holes (2103). The frame defines a pair of aligning holes (2112, 2113) and a pair of second whorl holes (2114). During the assembling course, the two aligning posts are respectively placed into the aligning holes, and the bolts are assembled together with the base and the frame via the two whorl holes.

摘要： A burn-in socket assembly (1) includes a base (10) receiving an IC and a number of contacts, a slider member (20) mounted onto the base and capable of moving along the base, a pair of actuation members (30) assembled onto the base, and a cover (40) assembled onto the actuation members and capable of moving up and down. The base forms a pair of receiving elements (141) on front and end sides respectively. Each receiving element includes a body portion (142), a pair of spaced top portion (143) each having slits (144) extending therethrough and an aperture (145) extending therethrough. A sensor is received in the aperture to provide signals to a controller during being operated at high temperature. The controller can reliably control the temperature of the whole assembly in light of the signals from the sensor, thereby avoiding damage of the IC by exorbitant temperature.

The medial portion defines a pair of wings (320) extending toward the soldering portion. A distance is configured between distal ends of the wings and the bottom surface of the housing. A method for manufacturing said electrical connector comprises such steps as: locating the soldering portions in corresponding recesses of a tool, pushing the tool toward the housing along a direction from the bottom surface to the upper surface, till a predetermined distance is configured between distal ends and the bottom surface.

摘要： A socket for interconnecting a PGA package with a circuit board comprises a base, a cover slidably attached to the base, and supporting means downwardly extending from the base. The base comprises a pair of extension plates diagonally extending therefrom. The supporting means in the form of a pair of standoffs is formed on the respective extension plates. Since each standoff has a height slightly smaller than that of solder balls formed on a lower surface of the base, the standoffs rest on the circuit board after the socket is soldered thereto. By such a design, the external force employed to actuate the cover to slide along the base is transferred from the base to the standoffs. Hence, deformation of the base and damage to the solder joint are obviated to ensure a reliable connection between the PGA package and the circuit board.

摘要： A socket connector includes a base defining slots for receiving and retaining contact elements therein. A cover adapted to support an electronic device, such as a central processing unit (CPU), defines holes corresponding to the slots of the base with pins of the CPU extending therethrough. The cover is positioned on the base with the pins partially received in the slots and is moved with respect thereto by an actuation device exerting a force on an edge thereof. A protection frame includes several segments forming channels for snugly receiving edges of the cover thereby protecting the cover from damage caused by the actuation force. The frame substantially extends along edges of the cover thereby enhancing the rigidity of the cover and preventing the cover from experiencing warpage during manufacture and operation.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a base having a top face in which contacts are retained. A cover defining a plurality of through holes for receiving pins of a central processing unit is mounted to the base thereby defining an interior space therebetween for accommodating a slide plate. The slide plate has a conductive member corresponding to each of the contacts and is movable to electrically engage each contact with the corresponding pin of the central processing unit. Two elongate recesses are defined in the top face of the cover. Each elongate recess has two end walls forming two opposite inclined faces. Two elongate projections are formed on a bottom face of the cover and are received in the recesses of the base. Each projection has two inclined end faces matingly and guidingly engaging with the end walls of the corresponding recess thereby properly positioning the cover with respect to the base and preventing the cover from sliding with respect to the base during movement of the slide plate.
