Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for controller directed targeted refresh operations. A memory may be coupled to a controller. The memory may identify aggressor addresses based on sampled addresses. The addresses may be sampled based on internal timing logic of the memory and also based on a sampling command received from the controller. The memory may also receive a controller identified aggressor address from the controller. The memory may refresh one or more victim word lines of the identified (either by the memory or the controller) aggressor addresses as part of a targeted refresh operation. Victims of controller identified aggressor addresses may be refreshed before memory identified aggressor addresses.

According to the tracked refresh management target set, the apparatus selectively implements the targeted refresh management operation and/or a response operation in addition to or as a replacement for the targeted refresh management operation.

The memory device may compare an access key included in a command directed to the memory device with either the user-defined access key or the manufacturer-defined access key to determine whether to permit or prohibit execution of the command based on the comparison.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure are drawn to apparatuses and methods for staggering the timing of targeted refresh operations. A memory device may include a number of memory banks, at least some of which may be simultaneously entered into a refresh mode. A given memory bank may perform an auto-refresh operation or a targeted refresh operation, which may draw less power than the auto-refresh operation. The timing of the targeted refresh operations may be staggered between the refreshing memory banks, such that a portion of the refreshing memory banks are performing a targeted refresh operation simultaneously with a portion of the refreshing memory banks performing an auto-refresh operation.

Abstract: Memory devices, systems including memory devices, and methods of operating memory devices are described, in which security locks are implemented to control access to secure functions of the memory devices. In one embodiment, the memory device detects a predetermined signal directed to the memory device. The predetermined signals may include one or more commands directed to the memory device, an operating parameter of the memory device, or both. The memory device may track instances of the predetermined signals to compare with a threshold stored in the memory device. If the memory device determines that the predetermined signals satisfy the threshold, the memory device prohibits access to the secure functions.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems related to managing access to a memory device are described. A dynamic random access memory (DRAM) device may limit or restrict access. In some cases, a memory device may be operated in a secure mode following issuance of a sequence of commands or based on a certain timing (e.g., based on clock cycles or an oscillator). A mode register of the memory device may be used to enable or disable certain modes of operation, including secure modes of operation. In some examples, a memory device may operation in an idle state while in a secure mode, and it may ignore (e.g., take no action in response to) certain commands while in the idle mode. A device may ignore commands if it identifies a mismatch in clock cycles or oscillator frequency, including when moved from one system to another without prior authentication or orderly shutdown.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for refresh command management are described. A memory device may conduct a refresh operation to preserve the integrity of data stored to one or more memory cells. In some examples, the frequency of refresh operations conducted may be based on the memory device's temperature and may be initiated based on one or more commands received from an external device (e.g., a host device). Each command may be transmitted by the host device at a defined rate, which may impact the rate at which the memory device conducts one or more refresh operations. The memory device may postpone or skip at least a portion of one or more refresh operations based on one or more operating parameters of the memory device.
