    Abstract: A chuck assembly for a rotary power tool includes a chuck body rotatable about a central axis. The chuck body has a plurality of slots, each oriented at an oblique angle relative to the central axis. The chuck assembly also includes a plurality of jaws, each movable along a respective one of the slots. The chuck assembly also includes a collar coupled to the plurality of jaws. The collar is selectively engageable with the chuck body such that, when engaged, the plurality of jaws are movable along the plurality of slots in response to rotation of the collar.

    Abstract: Power tool methods and systems are provided for aligning a power tool to implement an angled cut in a workpiece. The power tool includes a first distance sensor and a second distance sensor. The power tool measures a first distance to the workpiece with the first distance sensor and a second distance to the workpiece with the second distance sensor. The power tool calculates an angle between the power tool and the workpiece based on the first and second distances, and indicates the angle via an angle output indicator of the power tool. The power tool may measure an angle between the power tool and the workpiece using a proximate edge and a distal edge of the workpiece, and indicate whether the power tool maintains a correct angle as it traverses a cut through the workpiece from the proximate edge to the distal edge.

    Abstract: A tool bit holder for connecting a tool bit to a tool includes a tool body having a first end portion configured to connect to the tool, a second end portion, and a hollow interior configured to receive the tool bit. The second end portion defines an end of the tool body. The hollow interior extends through the end. The tool bit holder also includes a non-circular profile formed in the tool body and partially defining the hollow interior. The tool bit holder further includes an alignment region positioned between the end of the tool body and the non-circular profile. The alignment region partially defines the hollow interior to facilitate alignment of the tool bit with the non-circular profile.

    Abstract: A method of controlling a rotary impact tool includes activating a motor to provide torque to a drive assembly, providing rotational impacts to a torque stick coupled to an anvil of the drive assembly in response to a reaction torque on the drive assembly exceeding a threshold value, and sensing a position of the anvil with a position sensor. The position sensor transmits a first signal indicative of the anvil rotating in a first direction and a second signal indicative of the anvil rotating in a second direction, where the second direction is a rebound angle of the anvil. The method further includes calculating a torque transferred from the torque stick to a workpiece by multiplying the rebound angle by a torsional stiffness value of the torque stick and deactivating the motor in response to the torque exerted on the workpiece being substantially equal to a torque limit.

    Abstract: Devices and methods described herein provide for controlling an operating mode of a power tool. Controlling the power tool includes operating, by a motor controller, a motor of the power tool in a first operating mode.     Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a cylinder containing a pressurized gas, a piston within the cylinder and moveable from a top-dead-center position to a bottom-dead-center position, a driver blade moveably coupled to the piston for driving a fastener into a workpiece, and a lifter mechanism for providing torque to move the driver blade from the bottom-dead-center position toward the top-dead-center position. The powered fastener driver also includes a sensor configured to monitor a current draw of a motor of the lifter mechanism, and a controller is electrically connected to the motor and the sensor. The controller is configured to monitor the current draw of the motor, correlate, using an algorithm stored in the controller, the current draw to a pressure value. The controller is also configured to compare the pressure value to a predetermined pressure range and activate an indicator when the pressure value is outside the predetermined pressure range.
