Abstract:
A new and distinct variety of peach tree (Prunus persica) named ‘W-2’, characterized by the white, melting type flesh and freestone pit of its fruit. The fruit is fine-textured and aromatic, with a rich and balanced mixture of acidity and sweetness. The fruit flesh has a moderate amount of red coloration and is firm, making the fruit very suitable for packing and shipping as a fresh market product. The fruit skin is durable and the color is a mix of red and white. The tree is of average stature and is precocious, productive and a regular bearer.
Abstract:
Described herein are filter assemblies for removing high molecular weight organic components from liquefied petroleum gas, as well as methods for removing high molecular weight components from liquefied petroleum gases. The filter assemblies include an upstream carbon-containing filter media pack and a downstream filter media pack.
Abstract:
A decorative water display provides a laminar water bell. A gas burner may be provided inside the laminar water bell to produce a decorative flame. A laminar nozzle having an outlet arranged to eject a laminar jet of water upwardly in a substantially vertical direction may strike an impactor suspended directly above the outlet of the laminar nozzle such that the laminar jet of water forms the laminar water bell. Alternatively, a vertical pipe may supply water to a thin annular region between two plates such that water flowing between the two plates assumes a generally laminar flow characteristic and forms the laminar water bell when ejected from between the two plates. Alternatively, a hemispherical nozzle may have a slot arranged to eject a sheet of water upwardly to form a segment of the laminar water bell.
Abstract:
The web of the invention can comprise a super absorbent layer that can act as an moisture sensitive fuel shut-off valve, absorbent, adsorbent or reactant. The web of the invention can comprise a super absorbent fabric or layer made of a superabsorbent particle or fiber. The web can comprise a nanofiber layer having dispersed within the nanofiber layer a super absorbent particulate and optionally a second particulate material that can act as an absorbent, adsorbent or reactant. Fluid, gas or liquid, that flows through or by the assemblies of the invention can have any gas, liquid or solid material dispersed or dissolved in the fluid interact with the super absorbent particulate. If needed these materials can also react with, be absorbed by, or adsorbed onto, the active particulate within the nanofiber layer. The structures of the invention can act simply as flow-by reactive, absorptive, or adsorptive layers with no filtration properties, or the structures of the invention can be assembled into filters that can filter particulate from a mobile fluid in a flow-through mode while simultaneously reacting, absorbing, or adsorbing materials from the mobile fluid.
Abstract:
A system and method for removing and managing water in liquid hydrocarbons is disclosed. The system and method utilize a water absorbent filter, such as one that utilizes super absorbent polymers, cellulose, cotton or other suitable material to remove water from the system that is either present as free water or as dissolved moisture within the liquid hydrocarbon. The super absorbent polymer filter can be regenerated through the introduction of a dried liquid hydrocarbon, through the use of an air drying system, or a combination of both.
Abstract:
A submersible gas burner includes a pilot burner, a closed gas reservoir, and a first and second main burners. The pilot burner has a pilot burner tube with a closed upper end, an open lower end and a pilot gas inlet adjacent the upper end. The pilot burner provides a downwardly directed pilot flame. The closed gas reservoir has an upper end, a lower end, and a main gas inlet above the lower end. The main burners are coupled to the gas reservoir with upper ends adjacent the pilot burner and opposing lower ends coupled to the gas reservoir. The lower end of the first main burner is further from the lower end of the gas reservoir than the main gas inlet while the lower end of the second main burner is closer to the lower end of the gas reservoir than the main gas inlet.
Abstract:
The invention is an automatic no contact machine for cleaning and drying tips, air caps, retainers and cups on spray apparatus when changing liquid or when the apparatus will be idle, or to remove build up of paint on applicators that cause spits and drips on surfaces and electrostatic arcing to spray apparatus while containing and recovering cleaning effluents to an environmental standard.
Abstract:
A telescopic leg has a housing with a lift cylinder or mechanical screw jack type lift and an external track for adjustably coupling to a member. Such telescopic legs can be used to define a variety of table base configurations by providing multiple angularly aligned tracks in each leg for receiving cross supports which can be selectively coupled to a desired location along the tracks.
Abstract:
A new and distinct variety of Asian pear tree (Pyrus pyrifolia) and which is denominated as 85.10-23 is described, and which produces a yellow colored white fleshed fruit which is mature for harvesting and shipment during the second and third weeks of July under the ecological conditions prevailing in the San Joaquin Valley of central California.
Abstract:
Water on fire appearing water displays characterized by a burning fuel/air mixture entrained in a stream of water. The display uses a self entraining nozzle disposed at a proper level in a body of water, with a source of flammable gas provided a flow of gas to the lower pressure portion of the air entraining region of the nozzle and with the proper flow rate to obtain a combustible mixture of fuel/air entrained in the air stream. Coordinated variation of the water and gas flow under computer control provided a dynamic display while maintaining the flame throughout the variations. Other features are disclosed.
