    摘要: When a disk controller receiving an access from a host computer to a disk device is connected with a disk connection device, if a relevant disk is used by another disk controller, positioning data for seek, set file mask and set sector are queued in a common memory. When the relevant disk becomes free, the disk controller reads the queued information and requires the disk device for positioning. A request of a reconnection with the host computer is issued from the disk controller informed by the disk unit, which has finished positioning at the position specified by the positioning data, search of an aimed record and a read/write operation of transmitted data are effected without any new intervening of an access program of the host computer.

    摘要: The invention provides an encoder for subjecting an input signal to the orthogonal transform for band compression and encoding. The encoder has a sample and hold circuit which samples the input signal at a sampling frequency three times that of the input signal, and an orthogonal transform unit which subjects the sampled signal to the orthogonal transform using as a coefficient an orthogonal matrix function of the order of 3n (where n is an integer of 2 or more) having as a minor matrix an orthogonal matrix of the order of 3: ##EQU1## having given numbers a, b and c as matrix elements. By maintaining the sampling frequency low, the frequency components of the input signal may be concentrated in a small number of transform outputs without causing an increase in the amount of data to be processed, without using a multiplier and without requiring an increase in the processing speed. The input signal is thus effectively band compressed and encoded.

Based on the management information, a controller identifies an actual page that is configured only from tracks that do not comprise the user record, and cancels the allocation of the identified actual page to the virtual page.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to integrally manage disk storage apparatuses through virtualization. Some physical storage apparatuses 14 connected to a host computer 10 via a communication network 12 are virtualized with a virtual switch 18, a control unit 20, and a virtual device 22. The physical storage apparatus specifies a command when receiving the command from the host computer 10, and accesses, if the command access has been made to its own physical storage apparatus, a real disk via the virtual control unit 20 and virtual device 22, and executes I/O processing. If the command access is not made to its own physical storage apparatus, the physical storage apparatus 14 directs the command to the transmission target via the virtual switch 18. The physical storage apparatuses 14 are integrally managed according to the command in the above described manner.
