Abstract:
A mould holding cross member (9) according to the invention comprises a support base (91) a suitable to compress the mould (S) and more projecting, in the mould closing direction, than the ends (90) with which the cross member is connected to the moving columns (6) of the press on which it is fitted. The base (91) is connected to the rest of the cross member by a narrow portion (99) which extends in the central area of the base and between the projections of the hinging areas (7, 8) of the double toggle of the press on the press bed (2), and substantially not outside those projections. In this way the pressures are more uniformly distributed on the mould (S). The present invention also concerns a press fitted with a cross member (9) as defined above.
Abstract:
A device for compression moulding of plastic objects, comprising a plurality of compression-moulding units (9), each of which comprises a core mould element and a moulding cavity (2) filled by dropping into it a dose of plastic material; each moulding unit (9) is designed to carry out a moulding sequence comprising an operation of opening of the mould, an operation of filling of the moulding cavity, and an operation of closing of the mould. The device further comprises cam mechanisms for taking the moulding cavity outside of the vertical axes of the positive-mould element between the operation of opening of the mould and the operation of filling of the moulding cavity. The invention further relates to a method for the production of plastic objects by means of compression moulding device as described above.
Abstract:
The device for conditioning preforms in plastic material comprises a rotating turret (20), having a group of conditioning cavities (22) for inserting preforms, partly through an opening on a first side (A) of the turret and partly through an opening on a second side (B) of the turret. The conditioning cavities (22) which open on the first side (A) are disposed in such a way that for part of their length (L1) they are situated side by side with the cavities which open on the second side (B). In this way the turret becomes more compact. There is also described a conditioning method for the preforms.
Abstract:
Apparatus for handling and cooling preforms, comprising a collection element provided with a plurality of receptacles arranged according to a definite geometrical distribution pattern and adapted to accommodate a corresponding plurality of preforms, as well as a cooling element. The collection element is displaceable from a preform loading position to several distinct positions, arranged above the cooling element, which is provided with a plurality of cups collected into a plurality of distinct, but similar geometrical distribution patterns that are translated with respect to each other in such a manner as to prevent them from interfering with each other. The collection element can be selectively positioned in a number of such positions as to ensure that, in each one of said positions, the geometrical distribution pattern of the receptacles comes to be placed exactly above a specific geometrical distribution pattern of the cups, so that the preforms are capable of falling from the receptacles exactly into respective cups.
Abstract:
An injection molding machine and method of injection molding is provided, in which an upper platen, a moving platen, and a cavity-carrying platen are used. A removable member (cylinder) is provided to limit travel of the moving platen towards the cavity-carrying platen and to support the moving platen.
Abstract:
A pick-up plug for supporting and transporting preforms of thermoplastic resin, includes a central body, and an engagement mechanism adapted to slip into the neck portion of the preform, in which elastic members are provided on the engagement mechanism so as to press them against the wall of the neck portion, wherein a central body is provided with at least three groove-like recesses opening towards the exterior and the engagement mechanism is constituted by individual and independent gripping members that are housed in respective ones of the groove-like recesses. The elastic members are constituted by respective preloaded springs acting between the inner wall of each groove-like recess and the inner wall of the respective individual gripping member. The groove-like recesses are provided with a respective niche adapted to be engaged by a terminal portion of a respective one of the individual and independent gripping members, so that the latter are capable of rotating with the respective terminal portion pivotally retained in the respective one of the niches.
Abstract:
A process and relating plant for applying protective coats of paint to containers, especially plastic bottles. The process involves gripping the bottles by means of rotating gripping devices fastened to a conveyor chain, and conveying said bottles to all the different stations involved in the process: coating, drying, and curing. Centrifugation is used to remove any excess coating from the external surface of the bottles, keeping the bottles fastened to the same conveyor chain.
Abstract:
A plant for cooling preforms has a collection and translation element provided with a plurality of receptacles adapted to accommodate respective preforms that are usually knocked out of an injection mould. A revolving-turret element has two opposite surfaces provided with a plurality of cups adapted to accommodate respective performs. The turret revolves in a controlled manner about a horizontal axis so as to successively orientate the two surfaces upwards and downwards, and the collection and translation element can be displaced with a translational motion from a preform loading position selectively to a plurality of distinct positions, which lie above the surfaces of the turret when rotated upwards, and can engage and release the preforms from the respective receptacles.
Abstract:
A plastic material container, e.g. a beverage bottle, having a neck which requires the use of a smaller amount of plastic than the bottle necks of the prior art, and which is able to ensure a complete functionality for coupling the cap, ensuring at the same time the possibility of implementing the traditional supporting; sealing and handling operations of the bottle carried out during the various steps of manufacturing the same.
Abstract:
A blow mold (1) provided with a locking system to lock each half-mold (2) to the respective half-mold holder (3), allowing simpler and quicker replacement of the lateral half-impressions (4) of the mold (1). The blow mold (1) provides that the lateral half-impression (4) of each half-mold (2) is fixed in a cavity of the corresponding mold holder (3) by means of actuating at least one quick coupling device (5, 5′). Said quick coupling device (5, 5′) comprises a force multiplier mechanism (22, 22′) configured so as to actuate a respective locking element (29, 29′) from an unlocking position, in which the half-mold (2) or a part thereof may be extracted from the mold holder (3), to a locking position, in which half-mold (2) and mold holder (3) are integrally locked to each other, or vice versa.
