Abstract:
The absorbency of regenerated viscose filaments is improved by overfeeding a continuous tow of partially regenerated filaments onto a moving foraminous support so that regeneration occurs prior to and after the filament tow is overfed onto the moving support.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for processing, storing and heating foodstuffs in a partially metal microwavable bowl, and more specifically, a substantially metallic stackable container with a microwavable transparent portion and a selectively removable lid, wherein the same container can be used to store, ship, heat, and serve a foodstuff to a consumer.
Abstract:
A multiple-link tool assembly includes an elongated handle, at least one exchangeable extension link, and an exchangeable tool link. The handle has a portion adapted for being gripped by a user. The exchangeable extension link includes first and second connecting ends, and an angled body intermediate the first and second connecting ends. The first connecting end is removably connected to the handle. The exchangeable tool link has a proximal end removably connected to the second end of the extension link and a fastener-engaging distal end adapted for engaging a threaded fastener.
Abstract:
A gardening chair 10 is provided for supporting a user 12 thereon. The gardening chair 10 is provided with a base support member 14, and a seat 52 aligned with and coupled to upper portions of the base support member for supporting a user's lower body thereon. A diagonally extending chest support member 72 is provided for supporting a user's chest 12 and upper body thereon. An L-shaped tensioning arm 152 and an elastic band 156 are coupled to one end of intermediate portions of the diagonally extending chest support member 72 and the base support member 14 to support the member for movement to a plurality of predetermined diagonal positions.

A pair of elongated upwardly biasing members 86 and 88 are coupled between the diagonally extending chest support member 72 and the base support member 14 to support the member for movement to a plurality of predetermined diagonal positions.
Abstract:
The invention provides an electrochemical-mechanical polishing composition comprising: (a) a chemically inert, water-soluble salt, (b) a corrosion inhibitor, (c) a polyelectrolyte, (d) a complexing agent, (e) an alcohol, and (f) water. The invention also provides a method of polishing a substrate comprising one or more conductive metal layers, the method comprising the steps of: (a) providing a substrate comprising one or more conductive metal layers, (b) immersing a portion of the substrate in an electrochemical-mechanical polishing composition, the polishing composition comprising: (i) a chemically inert, water-soluble salt, (ii) a corrosion inhibitor, (iii) a polyelectrolyte, (iv) a complexing agent, (v) an alcohol, and (vi) water, (c) applying an anodic potential to the substrate, the anodic potential being applied to at least the portion of the substrate immersed in the polishing composition, and (d) abrading at least a portion of the immersed portion of the substrate to polish the substrate.
Abstract:
A system and method of identifying and locating one or more targets includes capturing one or more frames and recording position data for each of the frames. Each of the frames comprises a plurality of at least three different types of infrared image data. Each of the targets is identified and a location is provided based on the three different types of captured infrared image data in each of the frames and the recorded position data.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to metallic containers for food and beverage products, and more specifically, a substantially metallic container with a microwavable transparent portion and a selectively removable metallic lid, wherein the container can be used in a conventional microwave oven.
Abstract:
An oxidation process is described which involves subjecting a feedstock which contains oxidisable material to temperature, pressure and contact with an oxidant. Excess water and volatile oxidation products, such as carbon dioxide, formic acid and acetic acid, are removed in the vapour phase. A catalyst may be employed to increase the rate of reaction. Preferred catalysts include the transition metal ions. Advantageously, the process may be operated in a continuous manner wherein the feedstock is continuously introduced into a reactor and a vapour phase containing volatile oxidation products continuously removed. The process is particularly applicable to the treatment of consumer and industrial waste.
Abstract:
A clamp assembly secures a first article to a second article. The clamp assembly includes first and second spaced-apart article holders adapted for engaging respective first and second articles. An elongated gear rack interconnects the first and second article holders. A pinion operatively engages the gear rack, and is adapted for moving the first article holder along the gear rack relative to the second article holder. A locking bar has a plurality of spaced teeth adapted for meshing with respective teeth of the gear rack in a locked position. The locking bar is moveable between the locked position and a released position. In the locked position, the meshing teeth of the locking bar and gear rack cooperate to prevent linear movement of the first article holder relative to the second article holder, thereby securing the first article to the second article. In the released position, the teeth of the locking bar and gear rack are sufficiently disengaged to allow free linear movement of the first article holder along the gear rack relative to the second article holder.
