摘要： An apparatus comprising a connection manager in a user equipment (UE) configured to communicate with a cellular network via a cellular interface and with a short range wireless access network via a short range wireless access interface, wherein the connection manager is configured to enable the short range wireless access interface when a data connection request is detected and disable the short range wireless access interface when no more data connection requests are detected after expiration of a pre-determined time, and wherein the data connection request is at least partially delivered via the cellular interface while the short range wireless access interface is being set up and data connection is switched to the short range wireless access interface after completing short range wireless access interface setup.

The received reference signals are measured to compute a single cell feedback matrix and a combining matrix for each channel between the plurality of base stations and the mobile station. A channel state information is generated having information about the combining and the single cell feedback matrices. The channel state information is transmitted to the plurality of base stations.

摘要： A system and method for employing six-bit rank 1 and 2 codebooks for four transmit antennas is provided. A method for communications device operation includes estimating a communications channel between the communications device and a controller serving the communications device, thereby producing a channel estimate, quantizing the channel estimate using a codebook, thereby producing a selected codeword, and transmitting an index corresponding to the selected codeword from the codebook to the controller. The codebook includes a plurality of first level codewords, with each first level codeword having a plurality of subsidiary codewords. The quantizing is a search of only the first level codewords followed by a search of a subset of the plurality of subsidiary codewords, and the codebook is based on a rank of communications between the communications device and the controller.

摘要： The present invention concerns methods for efficiently supporting Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) on the Forward Packet Data Channel (F-PDCH) in CDMA 2000 1xEV-DV systems. Active speech in VoIP is encoded using, for example enhanced variable rate codec (EVRC), which produces 171, 80 and 16 bits per 20 ms of speech for Rate 1, Rate ½ and Rate ⅛, respectively. However, about 60% of the time a user is inactive during a speech session, so an inordinate amount of system bandwidth is comprised of rate ⅛ VoIP packets. In one embodiment of the present invention the apparatus of the present invention identifies the Rate ⅛ voice frame packets and discards them. In another embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus of the present invention identifies the Rate ⅛ voice frame packets and selects some of them for further transmission. In both embodiments the efficiency of channel utilization is increased since the amount of channel band width used to communicate relatively little information, e.g., gaps of silence, is decreased.

In one embodiment, the method of wireless communication includes reading at least a rank-2 baseline codebook having codewords representing precoding matrices. An adaptive codebook is generated by multiplying a first column of the codeword with a first transform matrix calculated from a channel correlation matrix, and multiplying a second column of the codeword with a second transform matrix calculated from the channel correlation matrix. The first and the second transform matrices are orthogonal.
