Abstract: A technique may include transmitting, by a user device in a proximity-based services wireless network via a first time-frequency resource identified by a first logical time index within N logical time resources and a first logical frequency index in the range from 0 to M−1, a first occurrence of a signal for the user device during a transmission period; determining a time index adjustment associated with the first logical frequency index; determining, by the user device, a second logical time index of a second time-frequency resource for transmitting from the user device a second occurrence of the signal within the transmission period, the second logical time index being determined based on the first logical time index and the time index adjustment associated with the first logical frequency index; and transmitting, by the user device via the second time-frequency resource, a second occurrence of the signal during the transmission period.

Abstract: Two physical layer user terminal capability alternatives are introduced for device-to-device discovery for FDD mode terminals: a full discovery physical layer capability, and a partial discovery physical layer capability. The full discovery physical layer capability corresponds to an alternative where a discovery-capable user terminal has a capability to perform both Discovery_Scan (on an uplink band) and Discovery_Tx (on a downlink band) operations. A Discovery_Tx operation corresponds to transmission of a discovery signal to another user terminal directly over the air. A Discovery_Scan operation corresponds to reception of the discovery signal from another user terminal directly over the air. The partial discovery physical layer capability corresponds to an alternative where the discovery-capable terminal has a capability to perform either Discovery_Scan operation (on the downlink band) or Discovery_Tx (on the uplink band) operation (or both).

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from multiplexing schemes. For example, various wireless communication systems may benefit from a block-IFDMA multiplexing scheme with a flexible payload. A method can include determining whether a first type of uplink signal or a second type of uplink signal is to be processed for transmission on an interlace. The method can also include determining whether to apply spreading based on intra-symbol spreading codes, inter-symbol spreading codes, or both intra-symbol spreading codes and inter-symbol spreading codes, based on the determination of whether the first type of uplink signal or the second type of uplink signal is to be processed for transmission. The method can further include causing transmission of the determined at least one of the first type of uplink signal and the second type of uplink signal according to the determination regarding applying spreading.

Abstract: A method comprises defining (401), in a network node (e NB), scheduled downlink carriers from a list of configured downlink carriers. The network node (e NB) defines (401) a downlink assignment index of the scheduled carrier having at least the lowest carrier index from the list of configured carriers, based on a total number of scheduled carriers. The network node (e NB) defines (401) the downlink assignment index for each other scheduled carrier having a higher carrier index from the list of configured carriers. The network node (e NB) transmits (402) to a terminal device (UE) a control message corresponding to each scheduled carrier, the control message indicating a downlink assignment scheduling a physical downlink shared channel, and comprising the defined downlink assignment index. The network node (e NB) receives (405) from the terminal device (UE), uplink control signalling indicating HARQ-ACKs related to physical downlink shared channels corresponding to the scheduled carriers.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for signalling are provided. The solution includes reserving resources for communication of a set of nodes (114, 116, 118) organized into one or more scheduling groups having a predetermined group identity, each node in a scheduling group having a unique identity. Scheduling messages are transmitted to all nodes, the messages including the group identity designating the scheduling group the message is intended, an information element indicating identity of the node allowed to transmit, a bitmap indicating identities of nodes instructed to receive, and information on parameters needed to transmit and receive data utilising the resources allocated for communication.
