The tip has a distal portion, a proximal portion and an intermediate portion between the distal and proximal portions. The intermediate portion is defined by a plurality of transverse cross-sectional areas, wherein each transverse cross-sectional area defines first and second axes substantially perpendicular to each other to define a width dimension along a first axis and a height dimension along the second axis. The height dimension is greater than the width dimension.

    摘要: Valve assembly for sealed reception of an elongated object includes a valve body having at least one opening configured and dimensioned to permit entry of an elongated object and defining a central longitudinal axis, an elongated seal member formed of a resilient material and defining an aperture in general alignment with the opening of the valve body whereby the aperture is configured and dimensioned such that insertion of the object into the aperture causes the resilient material defining the aperture to resiliently engage the outer surface of the object in a substantially fluid flight manner, and at least one elongated guard member disposed within the seal member in supporting contact with the inner surface thereof. The guard member is positioned to engage the elongated object upon at least partial insertion of the elongated object into the valve body. The guard member includes at least a first substantially rigid portion adapted to be displaced relative to the longitudinal axis to facilitate expansion of the aperture of the seal member upon entry of the object therein and a second portion having less rigidity than the first portion of the guard member to enhance passage of the elongated object through the valve body.

    摘要: A method of minimally invasively replacing a cardiac valve of a patient including inserting a delivery catheter intraluminally, inserting a valve resecting instrument intraluminally through the delivery catheter to a position adjacent the cardiac valve of a patient, manipulating the valve resecting instrument to resect the cardiac valve, removing the resected valve through the delivery catheter, and providing a delivery instrument having a replacement valve contained therein. The delivery instrument is advanced into the delivery catheter and intraluminally so that a distal end portion of the instrument is adjacent an annulus of a patient, and a first portion of the valve is exposed from the delivery instrument to position it on a first side of the annulus, and thereafter a second portion of the valve is exposed to position it on a second side of the annulus.

    摘要: The present provides a removable vessel filter comprising a first and second filtering portion and a first and second anchoring portion, wherein a transverse dimension of the first filtering portion in an expanded configuration is less than a transverse dimension of the first anchoring portion in an expanded configuration, and a transverse dimension of the second filtering portion is less than a transverse dimension of the second anchoring portion. The first and second filtering portions are positioned closer to each other than the first and second anchoring portions, and the anchoring portions being formed on first and second opposite portions of the vessel filter. The vessel filter is removable from a vessel wall by engagement of either the first filtering portion or the second filtering portion.

    摘要: A catheter has a lumen for a thrombectomy device and at least two balloons of different compliancies. In one embodiment, the catheter is adapted to clear dialysis grafts. One balloon is adapted to expand a stenosis at a venous junction of a dialysis graft and another balloon is adapted to pull a stenosis at an arterial junction of a dialysis graft. A single catheter may be used to perform a dialysis thrombectomy procedure.
