Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for handling collisions between PUSCH and sounding reference signal (SRS) on additional SRS symbols in an uplink subframe using carrier aggregation. The techniques provide rules that a user equipment (UE) may apply to decide if and when to drop or apply power scaling to SRS or PUSCH transmissions scheduled on overlapping time resources.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides user equipment power consumption and secondary cell (SCell) activation latency reductions in wireless communication systems. For example, a UE may determine that a secondary cell activation condition has been satisfied. The UE may further transition to a secondary cell activated state based on determining that the secondary cell activation condition has been satisfied, the secondary cell activate state corresponding to a dormant SCell state. The UE may operate at least in the dormant SCell state.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide a plurality of discovery reference signal (DRS) search modes implemented by the user equipment (UE) during contention-based communication in an unlicensed spectrum. The plurality of DRS search modes may include a first DRS search mode (“Full search mode”), second DRS search mode (“Comb search mode”), and a third DRS search mode (“Thin search mode”). The DRS search modes may be selected by the UE based on the system requirements (e.g., tradeoffs between robustness and complexity against cycle cost). Features of the present disclosure further provide techniques for dynamically switching between the plurality of DRS search modes in order to minimize power consumption while reducing the number of cycles required to locate the DRS.

A user equipment (UE) may determine, based on a cyclic prefix (CP) length of a channel, a timing window for sampling reference signals transmitted on the channel, determine a set of weights to apply to samples obtained within the determined timing window, wherein each weight corresponds to a sample obtained within the determined window, and estimate the channel by applying the weights to the samples.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus determines to change a mode of operation from a first signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) mode to an increased SNR mode, sends channel quality information (CQI) to a base station indicating an ability to receive data at the increased SNR, and receives the data from the base station according to a higher order modulation and coding scheme (MCS) corresponding to the increased SNR when the base station is capable of providing the data at the higher order MCS.
