Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for sidelink groupcast communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a beam training request to a base station to determine beams for use with other UEs in a sidelink groupcast communications group. The base station may receive the beam training request, identify wireless resources that a group of UEs may use to perform beam training, and may transmit a beam training grant to each UE of the group of UEs. The UE may transmit a number of training beams using the wireless resources provided in the beam training grant, and the other UEs may measure received signals on the wireless resources to identify one or more beams. Each UE may provide a beam training report to the base station. The base station, based on the beam training reports, may determine beams and resources for use in the groupcast sidelink communications.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a relay node, and a method of wireless communications by the relay node, including attempting to decode a plurality of first transport block portions of a transport block, wherein the plurality of first transport block portions are received on a first link according to a first encoding configuration. The aspects further include encoding successfully decoded ones of the plurality of first transport block portions according to a second encoding configuration to define one or more second transport block portions corresponding to the transport block, wherein the second encoding configuration is different from the first encoding configuration. And, the aspects further include transmitting the one or more second transport block portions on a second link and according to the second encoding configuration. Other aspects of the relay node and a receiver node are also disclosed.

Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, a UE may be configured to receive, from a base station, information indicating a reference point associated with at least one L1 measurement; determine a reporting value of the at least one L1 measurement based on a difference between the reference point and a measured value of the at least one L1 measurement; and transmit information indicating the reporting value to the base station. In another aspect, a RAN node can indicate to a UE that a reduced measurement report resolution is to be used for beam measurements in a measurement report. The reduced measurement report resolution is less than a first measurement report resolution previously indicated to be used for the beam measurements. Lower resolution can be obtained by using fewer bits to indicate one or more of the beam measurements. The payload for a measurement report such as a L-SINR or L-RSP L1 measurement report is thereby reduced when the UE transmits the measurement report to the RAN node.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for synchronization signal block (SSB) patterns with gaps. A method that may be performed by a network entity (e.g., a BS) generally includes determining a synchronization signal block (SSB) pattern that identifies SSB positions for sweeping a set of SSB beams over multiple SSB bursts with gaps between at least some of the SSB positions, wherein the SSB pattern identifies a subset of the set of SSB beams to use per SSB burst. For messages, such as ACK/NACK feedback in a communication system, messages having an occurrence above or below a certain number of events (e.g., ACK/NACK events) or a probability of the occurrence may be compressed into a single message. Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a base station and user equipment (UE) to be in agreement on spatial quasi co-location (QCL) assumptions for transmission in certain scenarios. The techniques may be used, for example, to determine QCL assumptions for downlink transmissions sent in an initial control resource set (CORESET) on an initial downlink bandwidth part (BWP) where dedicated signaling of such assumptions may be lacking. In some cases, the techniques may involve a UE determining a beam to use for monitoring for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission on the initial CORESET in the initial downlink BWP that lacks dedicated signaling of QCL information and monitoring for the PDCCH on the initial CORESET in the initial BWP using the determined beam. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
