    摘要: An electrical interface (125, 215) interconnects an electrical device (110) with a removable battery package (120). The electrical interface (125, 215) includes deflectable cantilever contacts (260) that are preferably located within the battery package (120). Each cantilever contact (260) has a portion (261) anchored to a substrate (250), and a deflectable portion (262) biased against a housing member (240), which deflectable portion (262) is externally accessible via a slot (248) within the housing member (240). Preferably, the cantilever contacts (260) are located within a recessed area (245) on an interior surface (241) of the housing member (240). A corresponding projection (346) extends externally on the housing member (240). The external projection (346) facilitates a plug and socket arrangement for mating the battery (120) to the electrical device (110). The substrate (250) is preferably formed from flexible film material and is structurally supported by a backer (270) attached to the housing member (240).

The alignment guide (206) may further provide a light guide (110) which can operate as a third guide post for the radio (100).

    摘要: A rotary control assembly (200) for a handheld two-way radio (100) provides improved tactile feedback in the form of clicks, even during gloved usage. Assembly (200) includes a housing having a large control knob (108), a rotary switch control (202) having a shaft (204), a shaft extender (206) having a toothed gear element (210), and a ball plunger (302). As the control knob (108) is rotated, the shaft extender (206), toothed gear element (210) and shaft (204), all turn in cooperation. The toothed gear element (210) is loaded by the ball plunger thereby generating a clicking tactile feedback in response to the control knob (108) being rotated. A large control knob (108), suitable for a ruggedized environment, can thus be used in conjunction with a small rotary switch control (202) for improved tactile feedback while maximizing internal space efficiency.

    摘要: A battery pack (304) and battery charging system (300, 400) provides contactless dynamic battery parameter sensing. A proximity sensor (208) is located in the battery pack (304) to monitor battery parameter measurements taken by battery parameter sensors (206). These battery parameter measurements are transferred to a charger (302) or radio (404) through a wireless link established between an excitation circuit, proximity sensor, and reader. The dynamically measured battery parameter information allows a charger (302) or radio (404) to select or adapt a charging routine based on the battery measurements. The use of a proximity sensor (208) along with battery parameter sensors (206) allow for minimal interface contacts between the radio and charger as well as the radio and battery.
