Abstract: A laser head apparatus that enables the use of smaller parallel converging laser beams that create multiple smaller holes in a material followed by a larger parallel diverging laser beams that remove additional material. The laser head apparatus includes laser optics and purging nozzles. A process for removing material using the laser head apparatus includes moving the laser head apparatus to a position to generate parallel converging laser beams at a target location in the material and moving the laser head apparatus to a position to generate parallel diverging laser beams at the target location from the converging laser beams.

Abstract: Systems and methods for cutting objects within a subterranean well include a laser system having a laser drilling head located at a terminal downhole end of a laser tool body directing a head laser beam in a direction downhole. A laser scanner assembly located within the laser tool body has a scanner head directing a scanner laser beam and can move both axially along a length of the laser tool body and rotate around a central axis of the laser tool body. A laser cutter assembly located within the laser tool body has a cutter head directing a cutter laser beam and can rotate around the central axis of the laser tool body. A cable bundle formed of a plurality of fiber optic cables extends from an uphole end of the laser tool body to each of the laser drilling head, the laser scanner assembly, and the laser cutter assembly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering an injection fluid into a subterranean well include an injection tool having an injection tool body with an internal cavity. A fluid chamber is located within the internal cavity. A heating chamber includes a pipe segment arranged parallel to the central axis. A one way valve provides a fluid flow path for the injection fluids to travel in a downhole direction through the one way valve, and prevents the flow of fluids through the one way valve in an uphole direction. A fiber optic cable extends to the pipe segment, the fiber optic cable operable to deliver a laser radiation to the pipe segment, heating the pipe segment. The injection tool body provides a fluid flow path from the one way valve to an outside of the injection tool.

Abstract: An example laser tool is configured to operate within a wellbore of a hydrocarbon-bearing rock formation. The laser tool includes one or more optical transmission media. The one or more optical transmission media are part of an optical path originating at a laser generator configured to generate a laser beam having an axis. The one or more optical transmission media are for passing the laser beam. The laser tool includes an optical element that is part of the optical path. The optical element is for receiving the laser beam from the one or more optical transmission media and for output to the hydrocarbon-bearing rock formation. The laser tool includes a color applicator head for discharging one or more coloring agents to a surface in the wellbore in a path of the laser beam.

Abstract: A method for monitoring hydrate formation in an interior of a tube may include deploying a first hydrate controller device at a first location on an exterior surface of the tube. The method may include deploying a second hydrate controller device at a second location on the exterior surface of the tube. The method may include transmitting, by the first hydrate controller device, first acoustic signals towards the interior of the tube. The first acoustic signals may include a first frequency value and a first amplitude value associated to a transmission power level. The method may include receiving, by the second hydrate controller device, the first acoustic signals. The method may include measuring, by the second hydrate controller device, a reception power level of the first acoustic signals.
