Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). A method for handling communication in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving a non-access stratum (NAS) message indicating that the UE is not permitted to access a first public land mobile network (PLMN) over a satellite communication along with geographical indication or a timer indication from the first PLMN. Further, the method includes determining a geographical area based on the received geographical indication or a timer value based on the timer indication. Further, the method includes starting a timer with the timer value. Further, the method includes determining that the UE is not allowed to access the first PLMN in the determined geographical area or the expiry of the timer. Further, the method includes performing a PLMN selection and registration procedure on a second PLMN based on the determination.

The method includes receiving, by the multi SIM UE, a paging message from a first SIM network, where the multi SIM UE is on an active data session on a second SIM network. Further, the method includes reading, by the multi SIM UE, the paging message from the first SIM network and determining, by the multi SIM UE, that a higher priority service is on-going on the second SIM network; and managing, by the multi SIM UE, the paging procedure by sending a paging reject message to the first SIM network of the wireless communication network.-

Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose a method for managing a data session of a user equipment (UE) including multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMS) in a dual-connectivity wireless network. The method includes identifying, by the UE, initiation of a voice call over a first network on a first SIM of the multiple SIMs while at least one data session is ongoing on the first network associated with a second SIM of the multiple SIMS, the second SIM being connected with the first network and a second network included in the dual-connectivity wireless network. Further, the method includes shifting, by the UE, the at least one data session to the second network associated with the second SIM in response to identifying that the voice call over the first network on the first SIM is initiated, identifying, by the UE, whether the voice call over the first network initiated on the first SIM is ended, and shifting, by the UE, the at least one data session to the first network associated with the second SIM, in response to identifying that the voice call over the first network initiated on the first SIM is ended.

If the measurement ID of the first neighboring cell and the measurement ID of the second neighboring cell are same, the method includes splitting a measurement report for the first neighboring cell and a measurement report of the second neighboring cell and sending the measurement report of the first neighboring cell before the measurement report of the second neighboring cell.
