Abstract: A method and an apparatus method are provided for transmitting uplink information including acknowledgement information in a wireless communication system. The method includes coding, by a terminal, uplink data and the acknowledgement information by using different coding schemes respectively; multiplexing, by the terminal, the coded uplink data and the coded acknowledgement information into the uplink information; and transmitting, by the terminal, the uplink information using resources. At least a portion of the uplink data is transmitted based on a first resource and the acknowledgement information is transmitted based on a second resource. The first resource and the second resource are adjacent to each other with respect to a time domain and a frequency domain. The acknowledgement information is located immediately adjacent to a pilot for the uplink data, and the pilot is used for demodulation of the uplink data.

A method in a base station includes transmitting, to a terminal, information associated with a number of Control Channel Elements (CCEs) included in control channels; identifying a set of control channel candidates based on an IDentifier (ID) of the terminal and the information associated with the number of CCEs, wherein each control channel candidate includes one, two, four, or eight CCEs; selecting at least one control channel candidate from among the set of control channel candidates; and transmitting the control information to the terminal via the selected at least one control channel candidate.

According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the method by which a terminal receives broadcast information in a communication system comprises the steps of: receiving a plurality of radio frames from a base station; extracting at least one broadcasting channel signal from the plurality of radio frames in every set period; combining, for a preset time slot, the at least one broadcasting channel signal extracted in every set period; and acquiring broadcast information by decoding the combined broadcasting channel signal.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for a Node B to transmit Reference Signals (RS) from multiple antennas to enable User Equipments (UEs) to perform demodulation of received information signals and to estimate Channel Quality Indication (CQI) metrics. To minimize overhead and enable backward compatible operation with legacy systems, RS from a first set of Node B antennas are transmitted in every transmission time interval and substantially over the whole operating BandWidth (BW). RS from a second set of Node B antennas serving for CQI estimation are periodically transmitted, substantially over the whole operating BW, with transmission period informed to UEs through broadcast signaling by the Node B and starting transmission sub-frame determined from the identity of the cell served by the Node B. RS from the second set of antennas, and new RS from the first set of antennas, serving for demodulation of information signals have substantially the same BW as the information signals which can be smaller than the operating BW.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transmitting a sounding reference signal (SRS) in a cooperative communication system. The method comprises receiving, from a macro base station, SRS resource information indicating transmission resources of an SRS to be transmitted by a user equipment (UE); transmitting the SRS and uplink data based on a UE-specific SRS subframe configuration included in the SRS resource information when the SRS resource information includes the UE-specific SRS subframe configuration information; and transmitting the SRS and the uplink data based on a pre-stored cell-specific SRS subframe configuration when the SRS resource information does not include the UE-specific SRS subframe configuration information. When a destination of the SRS to be transmitted by the UE is selected as a base station related to the macro base station, the SRS resource information includes the UE-specific SRS subframe configuration information of the base station selected as the destination of the SRS.
