Abstract:
An RFID reader controller and methods of controlling an RFID reader by an RFID reader controller are provided to limit or prevent the issuing of confidential information such as encryption keys, passwords, shared secrets, and the like to RFID tags if a reader is not authorized. A controller may determine the authorization status of a reader and limit its communication with the reader or instruct the reader to limit an operational aspect of the reader.
Abstract:
A process for producing high impact polystyrene including feeding at least one vinyl aromatic monomer, an elastomer, and a free radical initiator to a first linear flow reactor to form a reaction mixture. Polymerizing the reaction mixture in the first linear flow reactor to a point below the point at which phase inversion occurs to produce a first polymerization mixture and feeding the first polymerization mixture from the first linear flow reactor to a second linear flow reactor. Polymerizing the reaction mixture in the second linear flow reactor to at least a phase inversion point of the mixture to produce a second polymerization mixture and feeding the second polymerization mixture from the second linear flow reactor to at least a third linear flow reactor for post-inversion polymerization of the second polymerization mixture. The product stream can have an ESCR value of at least 10% toughness retained with less than 10 wt % rubber content.
Abstract:
This invention is related to multi-layer golf balls having at least one layer containing a neutralized high acid ionomer linked to a grafted metallocene copolymer, where the golf balls exhibit improved performance characteristics and properties.

Abstract:
A method for the in-situ preparation of an ionic comonomer from its chemical precursors, prepared in a solution of styrene monomer is disclosed. In one embodiment, the ionic comonomer is zirconium methacrylate, Zr(MA)4 or zirconyl methacrylate, ZrO(MA)2, or a combination thereof, and zirconium carbonate hydroxide oxide, ZrCO3(OH)2.ZrO2, and methacrylic acid, CH2═C(CH3)—COOH, are used as precursors used for its in-situ preparation.
Abstract:
A transmitter upconverts a SSB data signal during a first operational mode using a RF upconverting signal having a frequency that is offset from a center frequency of a channel (ωC) by an amount that depends on the data signal's SSB bandwidth (ωM). In a second operational mode, the transmitter upconverts a tone signal having a frequency ωM using the same RF upconverting signal. The upconverted tone signal can be used as a continuous wave (CW) carrier signal having a frequency ωC. The transmitter has a single RF oscillator to output both a SSB signal centered at frequency ωC during the first mode and a carrier signal of frequency ωC during the second mode.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of producing a novel biaxially oriented film having a high diffraction of light, and flexibility. In particular, the invention disclosed provides a method for making an opaque impact copolymer film by stretching in two dimensions an impact polypropylene copolymer. The invention is disclosed to be useful for making a material particularly suitable for a variety of applications including labeling media, food packaging and laminates. Also disclosed is a multilayer film having a first impact polypropylene copolymer layer and a second layer of another polymer wherein the multilayer film has significantly reduced haze. Also disclosed is film produced with a filler that has increased porosity and flexibility.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for exchanging data between one or more RFID tags and an interrogation unit comprising transmitting a burst of data from the one or more RFID tags.
Abstract:
RFID tags, tag circuits, and methods adapting the reception bandwidth. A tag has a decoder for decoding a first received wireless signal subject to a reception bandwidth setting. The tag also has a selector switch for transitioning to a different setting, such as by switching to using a different filter. A subsequently received second signal is decoded subject to the new reception bandwidth setting.
Abstract:
Analog-valued floating-gate transistors are used as trimmable circuit components for modifying and/or controlling the gain, phase, offset, frequency response, current consumption, and/or transfer function of signal pathways in parallel and/or serial processing circuits in radio frequency, analog, or mixed-signal integrated circuits.
