Abstract: A die for extrusion-forming a honeycomb structure which includes: a die base provided with ceramic puddle introducing holes and slits in communication with the ceramic puddle introducing holes; and a substrate layer, which roughly defines the final width of the slits, and a surface layer, which precisely defines the final width of the slits, formed on the die base in this order so that the final width of the slits becomes 15 to 200 μm, wherein the surface layer is made up of tungsten carbide particles which are 5 μm or less in average particle diameter and contain W3C as a main ingredient. According to this invention, there is provided a die for extrusion-forming a honeycomb structure which can restrain fluctuation in extrusion-forming speed among its parts and resistance to pushing force, both caused at the time of extrusion-forming, to be very small and is superior in productivity and durability.

Abstract: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is applied to vehicles equipped with a so-called drive by wire. When one of several control systems within the control apparatus fails, the drive is urged to obtain repairs. Also, even when all of the several control systems of the drive by wire fail and the failures of these control systems cannot be detected, unpredictable motion of the throttle valve can be prevented, thereby enhancing vehicle safety. The present invention includes a plurality of electronic throttle control systems for electrically driving a throttle valve of an internal combustion engine, a failure detecting mechanism for detecting failures of the electronic throttle control systems, intake air volume control mechanism for driving the throttle valve in a closing direction and also supplying a predetermined intake air volume to the internal combustion engine if it is judged that all electronic throttle control systems have failed, and output suppression mechanism for controlling the driving of the throttle valve by a normal electronic throttle control system and also suppressing output of the internal combustion engine corresponding to the operational quantity of the accelerator pedal if the failure determining mechanism determines that one electronic throttle control system among the several electronic throttle control systems has failed.

Abstract: Objects of the present invention are to facilitate filling out by hand an electronic paper and to realize digitization of contents with which the electronic paper is filled out by hand with a simple structure. A read image is obtained by optically reading a reading-object of the electronic paper. Based on the document information written on the electronic paper and writing-conditions during document writing, which are represented by the document information, a display image of the document in accordance with the read image information is formed. A written image is separated and extracted by converting a density only of pixels among the respective pixels of the read image, whose densities vary in accordance with the document writing and which correspond to a portion, to which ink of a pen for the handwriting is not adhered.

Abstract: A lenticular print that allows stereoscopic viewing is formed by forming lenticular lenses, each having a convex sectional shape, on an image-recorded member, which has groups of parallax images arranged and written thereon. Each group of parallax images includes strips of parallax images. The lenticular lenses are formed correspondingly to the individual groups of parallax images. The lenticular print is formed through a base forming step of forming bases, which extend in a longitudinal direction of the parallax images and have a rectangular sectional shape and a predetermined height, of the lenticular lenses by depositing a transparent material on the groups of parallax images, and a lens forming step of forming lens top portions of the lenticular lenses by depositing the transparent material on the bases so that the deposited transparent material bulges upward from the bases due to surface tension thereof to have a substantially circular sectional shape.
