    摘要: A sensor-failure decision system for determining a sensor failure of an automobile temperature sensor, comprises a first memory section adapted to receive input information indicative of a temperature of working fluid used in the automotive power train component part and detected by the automobile temperature sensor, a second memory section for storing a predetermined normal temperature region and a plurality of predetermined partitioned temperature regions which are obtained by partitioning a specified temperature region being lower than and continuous with the predetermined normal temperature region into a plurality of temperature regions, and a timer for measuring an elapsed time during which the temperature detected by the automobile temperature sensor is continually included in either one of the partitioned temperature regions. Also provided is a sensor-failure decision section for determining that a sensor failure of the automobile temperature sensor is present when the elapsed time measured by the timer reaches a predetermined time duration.

    摘要: An apparatus for checking a trouble in a communication circuit connected between engine and transmission control units. A check signal is produced at uniform intervals of time. The check signal is converted into a predetermined code. The converted code is transmitted through the communication circuit from one of the engine and transmission control units to the other control unit. The code transmitted to the other control unit is monitored to produce a failure signal to indicate that a trouble occurs in the communication circuit when the monitored code is not identical with the predetermined code.

    摘要: Described are apparatus and method for monitoring revolution speed values detected by corresponding revolution speed sensors too determine whether at least any one of an engine revolution speed sensor, a continuously variable transmission input axle revolution speed sensor, and a continuously variable transmission output axle revolution speed sensor has failed according to detected values of the engine revolution speed sensor, the input axle revolution speed sensor, and the output axle revolution speed sensor and a detected value of an instantaneous gear shift ratio when a lock-up mechanism is in a lock-up state. If all of three formulae on predetermined correlations are established, all of the sensors are determined to be normally operated. If any one or two of the three formulae are not established, the failure one of the three sensors is identified. The three correlation formulae are based as follows: 1) N.sub.E =N.sub.PRI ; 2) N.sub.PRI =N.sub.SEC .times.CN; and 3) N.sub.E =N.sub.PRI .times.C.sub.N, wherein N.sub.E denotes the engine revolution speed, N.sub.PRI denotes the input axle revolution speed, C.sub.N denotes the detected instantaneous gear shift ratio, and N.sub.SEC denotes the detected output axle revolution speed.
