    摘要: An optical fiber grating is manufactured by heating intermittently an optical fiber, provided with a core having residual stress in the longitudinal direction, softening a peripheral cladding of the core, and forming spatial periodical changes for the relative refractive index-difference between the core and the cladding, in the longitudinal direction of the aforementioned optical fiber by having the index of refraction of the core change, through the releasing of the aforementioned residual stress. As a result, an optical fiber grating and the manufacturing method thereof, which do not require expensive equipment and which exhibit high productivity, and furthermore a grating characteristic which is stable over time can be provided.

The tandem-type image forming apparatus includes a plurality of detecting units, each detecting a toner image formed by a corresponding image forming unit to obtain the amount of toner in the toner image, a standard pattern formation controlling unit for controlling one of the image forming units to form a standard pattern to be detected by the detecting units, a sensitivity obtaining unit for obtaining a value as an evaluation value that is outputted by each of the detecting units on detecting the standard pattern, and an detection output adjusting unit for adjusting a value outputted by the detecting unit in accordance with the evaluation value. An image forming condition is set for each of the image forming units in accordance with the adjusted value, and image formation is performed under the image forming conditions.

    摘要: A tandem-type color image forming apparatus forms a toner pattern and toner markers on an intermediate transfer member. Tone levels in the toner pattern vary in a sub scanning direction, and the toner markers which are a same color with the tone pattern each oppose, in a main scanning direction, a different one of the tone level portions in the toner pattern, each tone level portion representing a different one of the tone levels. Positions of the toner markers in the sub scanning direction are determined to detect densities in the toner pattern corresponding to the determined positions. Tone of image data is corrected in an image formation based on a relationship between the densities and the tone levels corresponding to the determined positions.
