摘要： An electronic translator is characterized in that a new translated sentence is prepared by using at least one word contained in a sentence key inputted those cases where no word corresponding to the word is stored in a memory for storing a plurality of translated words. The translator comprises an input circuit for inputting the sentence, an access circuit for accessing a most equivalent translated sentence, and a detection circuit for detecting whether all of the words contained in the sentence are stored in memory and for inserting such unstored words directly into the translated sentence.

摘要： An information retrieval system adapted for an electronic dictionary comprises an input device actuated for entering an entry word, a memory adapted for storing a word equivalent to the entry word and the number of a track related to the word a video disk for recording information related to the word and voice data related to the word, the information and the voice data being randomly accessed, and an access circuit responsive to the number of the track specified by the memory for accessing the video disk to access the information from the video disk. The access circuit is operated to automatically provide the voice data when the video disk is operated to provide the new kind of information or, otherwise, to selectively provide the voice data while the video disk is operated to display a particular picture.

摘要： Within an electrophotographic copying machine having a predetermined number of sensing elements each deriving an output indicative of respective one of operating states of the machine, there is provided a single chip, MOS-LSI microprocessor responsive to the outputs of the sensing elements to control the machine in a sequential or serial mode. The microprocessor contains storage means storing a string of instructions, processing means to fetch sequentially the instructions from the storage means and to deal with the fetched instructions, first input means to receive synchronizing signals generated within the body of the machine, first output means to determine with aid of the processing means whether any synchronizing signal is inputted via the first input means and to produce confirmation signals after confirming the sensed operating states of the machine, second input means to introduce through the sensing elements the confirmation signals supplied via the first output means, and a second output means to process with aid of the processing means the signals received by the first input means and the second input means and to consequently produce control signals effective to control operation of the machine.

摘要： A new and effective combination is disclosed wherein both a calculator and an electronically tuning radio receiver are governed by common control circuitry and a microprocessor implements the major portion of the calculator and also implements or governs the electronically tuning radio receiver and a digital timekeeper. For example, it is possible for the operator to listen to a radio program of a desired frequency and continue operating the calculator whenever he likes, while the calculator is in use. If the radio receiver is provided with a time switch function, then it is possible to obtain on-time information and immediately execute calculations on the one-time information obtained, thus enhanceing maneuverability.

摘要： An integrated circuit device having a combined time-keeping mode and calculator mode comprises a generator stage for generating basic clock signals and system clock signals, a processor stage responsive to a supply of the system clock signals for executing arithmetic operations required for the timekeeping mode and the calculator mode key input members for introducing information into the processor stage as key input signals, and a clock control for controlling the supply of the system clock signals. The processor stage is adapted to develop a command signal to indicate the completion of the arithmetic operations. The clock control is responsive to the rising and trailing edges of the key input signals for enabling the supply of the system clock signals. The generation of the command signal causes the clock control to prevent the system clock signals from being fed to the processor stage.

摘要： The body of an electronic calculator comprising a keyboard, an arithmetic processor unit, a power supply and a digital display is accommodated within a casing at least a portion of which corresponding to the keyboard is made of a single flexible flat sheet such as cloth and leather. A plurality of limited regions of the flat sheet are given unique symbols and indicators corresponding to respective ones of keys of the keyboard by a printing technique for example, whereby the flexible flat sheet serving as manually operable key tops or actuators. When depressing a specific limited region of the key flat sheet, its associated elastomeric connector comes into contact with a comb shaped counter connector contact formed on a printed circuit board. Such an arrangement provides a keyboard with no protruding key tops for a totally new dimension in slimness and portability of calculators.

The power supply circuit includes a first input terminal connected to a constant voltage source for supplying the first potential, a second input terminal connected to the reference potential, first, second, third, fourth and fifth output terminals for supplying the liquid crystal energizing circuit with desired potentials, impedance means connected between the first input terminal and the second input terminal for deriving the second potential and the third potential therefrom, means for always supplying the first output terminal and the fifth terminal with the first potential and the reference potential respectively, and switching means for determining whether the second, third and fourth output terminals are respectively with the first, second and third potentials or with the second, third and reference potentials. The last named switching means contain only P channel MOS transistors (or N channel MOS transistors).

摘要： An electronic calculator disclosed herein is comprised mainly of a multi-digit liquid crystal display unit, a mechanical contact type keyboard unit and a semiconductor circuit unit including a computation circuit, logical control circuit, storage circuit, program memory circuit, etc., these units being all incorporated on a single plate of electrically insulating material. One of a pair of spaced apart electrically insulating plates forming a capacity for the liquid crystal composition is of a length sufficient to support all the constitutional units, which has two major surfaces one for supporting the keyboard unit and the other for supporting the semiconductor circuit unit. Connection between oppositely disposed keyboard unit and semiconductor circuit unit is accomplished by any conventional method, for example, multi-terminal connector, conductive material printing, through holes, wire bonding and so on.
