摘要: The present invention generates an output clock signal CLKreq having a frequency freq between the frequency fref/A of a divided clock signal CKL1 and the frequency fref/(A+1) of a divided clock signal CLK2. A clock divider circuit selectively generates divided clock signals CLK1, CLK2. A discrete value correction circuit controls the clock divider circuit so as to repeat C times the process of generating the clock signal CLK2 once and the clock signal CLK1 (Q−1) times and then to generate the clock signal CLK1 R times if C D. A, B, and C are natural numbers satisfying freq=fref/(A+C/B). In D=B−C, Q is a quotient of B/C if C D.

摘要: In a field of commercial nuclear reactors, a control blade, which is inserted into and withdrawn from the core of a nuclear reactor so as to start/shut-down the operation thereof and to control the reactor power, must have soundness, high reactivity and long life. The control blade for nuclear reactors is arranged to prevent swelling of a neutron absorber so as to improve the soundness. Furthermore, even if the swelling takes place, the soundness of the control blade can be maintained. The control blade is arranged to prevent the swelling phenomenon in such a manner that boron exhibiting excellent neutron absorbing performance absorbs hydrogen which is produced as a result of reactions with the neutrons. The control blade for nuclear reactors has an upper structure member, a lower structure member, a central tie member disposed between the upper and lower structure members, a plurality of wings connected to each other by the central tie member, and neutron absorber enclosed in the wing. Each of the wings is constituted by a plate member made of hafnium metal, a hafnium alloy or an alloy the main component of which is zirconium or titanium. The neutron absorber comprises a long-lived type neutron absorber which is enclosed in accommodating holes formed in the front insertion portion of the wing which is exposed to a large amount of neutrons and a neutron absorber which is inserted into at least the major portion of the residual accommodating holes and which contains boron. A mixture of a material containing boron and a hydrogen absorber is enclosed in the accommodating holes for accommodating the neutron absorber containing boron disposed in a range from the front insertion portion, which is exposed to a large amount of neutrons, to 1/4 of the height L of an effective core portion of a nuclear reactor.

摘要: A fuel assembly for a nuclear reactor includes a number of fuel rods filled with a fuel material. A water rod having a cross sectional area larger than that of each fuel rod is disposed at substantially the central portion of the fuel assembly. The fuel rods include first fuel rods having a whole effective fuel zone filled with a fuel material throughout the entire length thereof and second fuel rods each having an interposed zone in which enrichment of a fissile nuclide is significantly reduced or the fissile nuclide does not exist at all. The second fuel rods are arranged so as to surround the water rod so that the interposed zones are positioned on an axial level including a portion at which subcriticality is made small at a period in which maintenance of reactor shut-down margine is made difficult during the reactor operation period. The water rod may be provided with a lower portion having a cross sectional area smaller than that of an upper portion and short fuel rods are disposed so as to surround the lower portion of the water rod.

摘要: An electronic timepiece having a stepping motor and a drive circuit responsive to a control signal for applying electrical drive pulses having polarities determined by the control signal for rotating the rotor of the stepping motor. The control circuit normally operates in a mode for applying a control signal to the drive circuit effective to control the drive circuit to apply alternate polarity electrical drive pulses to rotate the stepping motor rotor in a normal direction. Resetting circuitry is operable for correcting the time kept by the timepiece. A detecting circuit detects whether the stepping motor rotor is in a position to be rotated by a forthcoming drive pulse after resetting. If the stepping motor rotor is not in a position for rotation a detection circuit signal is applied to the control circuit so that the control signal controls the drive circuit to apply an electrical pulse effective to rotate the stepping motor rotor after resetting. Consequently, after resetting the immediately forthcoming drive pulse will have a polarity effective to rotate the stepping motor rotor and no time will be lost.

摘要: In an electronic watch a non-operation detecting circuit detects the non-operative condition of the stepping motor of the watch and produces a non-operation signal each time the stepping motor fails to operate in response to the standard pulse which drives the same. A counter counts the number of non-operation signals and stores the count for later use. A rotation detecting circuit detects the resumption of operation of the stepping motor in response to the standard pulse from the non-operative condition and a quick feed control circuit quickly advances the stepping motor in response to an input from the rotation detection circuit by thereafter supplying, instead of the standard pulses, the quick feed pulses to the drive circuit for the motor equal in number to the number of the non-operation signals counted in the counter. In this way the corrected time will be displayed by the watch even after being rendered inoperative as a result of an external condition such as low temperature or a high strength DC magnetic field.
