摘要： A device for automatically adjusting the tension of a lower thread, which comprises a lower thread bobbin arranged on a bottom plate of a bobbin carrier turnably carrying the bobbin, a loop taker mounted on a magnetic shaft, and an energizing coil arranged around the magnetic shaft and providing together with said bottom plate and magnetic shaft a path of magnetic flux. The device is further provided with a detector detecting the consumed amount of the bobbin thread and a control circuit for energizing the coil when the lower thread is wound to the maximum capacity of the bobbin, interrupting the light of the detector. The detector operates the control circuit to decrease the amount of electric current applied to the energizing coil so as to set the lower thread tension back to its initial predetermined value.

摘要： A needle holding device for a sewing machine having a needle with a cylindrical shank having a flat edge surface extending along the shank includes a needle bar for supporting the needle, a needle holder mounted to the needle bar and a holding screw to fasten the needle to the needle bar. The needle bar is formed with a vertical groove defined by a horizontal wall and an inclined wall which are adjacent to each other to define a wedge-shaped space. The needle holder has a vertical circular hole having an inner periphery and a transverse hole extended into the vertical hole. When the needle holder is mounted to the needle bar the inner periphery of the vertical hole and the wedge-shaped space of the needle bar groove form a wedge-shaped chamber into which the shank of the needle is inserted. The holding screw fastens the needle upon insertion into the needle bar when the flat edge of the shank is positioned against the horizontal wall of the groove.

These signals are then used to identify the last needle position coordinate of a preceding stitched pattern of the series and the initial needle position coordinate of the next-following pattern to be stitched in the series and, in dependence upon this, the most appropriate interconnecting pattern from a memorized group of such interconnected patterns is selected and stitched, so as to interconnect the preceding stitched pattern and the next-following pattern of the series.

摘要： A zig-zag sewing machine equipped with pattern cams and a pattern cam selection arrangement has a compartment in which various accessories of the sewing machine are accommodated. One lid covers the compartment and another lid overlies the above-mentioned lid, the lids being provided, at their surfaces facing one another, with a table of indicia and with lines connecting the indicia with other indicia provided on a pattern cam selector dial so as to enable the user of the sewing machine to adjust the sewing machine for the particular selected stitch pattern. The lids are mounted for pivoting on a common shaft, and a sliding element is mounted on the shaft for displacement therealong and is visible when the one lid is either open or closed, the position of the slide element being selected in dependence on the selected pattern and also being indicative of the accessory to be used. An arresting arrangement arrests the lids in their closed positions for sequential release toward their open positions, and includes two latching elements each of which engages one of the lids, and a connecting element which connects the latching element associated with the one lid to the latching element associated with the other lid only when the other lid is in its open position.

摘要： In an apparatus for detecting and displaying a residual quantity of lower or under thread (12) of a sewing machine, an under-thread bobbin (10) is provided with transparent flange portions (10a) permitting the light rays emitted from a light emitting device of a photosensor (19) to pass through the flange portions (10a ) of the bobbin (10). The light rays having passed through the bobbin (10) are then reflected by a reflecting means or mirror (21) affixed to a back surface of a bed of the sewing machine to impinge on a light receiving device of the photosensor (19) so that the photosensor (19) detects the residual quantity of the lower thread (12) of the sewing machine. In the photosensor (19), the light emitting device is integrally formed with the light receiving device to save space.

摘要： A sewing machine comprises a thread deflecting device arranged between a thread take-up lever and a needle and which in response to a swinging movement of a needle bar effected in response to selection of a zigzag stitch, deflects the upper thread laterally of a fabric feeding direction. A thread blocking device is provided on one side of the thread deflecting device. The sewing machine further comprises an actuator operated in response to actuation of a zigzag stitch pattern selecting key to move the thread blocking device to an operative position thereof. The thread blocking device in the operative position blocks the upper thread as it is deflected in one direction by the thread deflecting device to give a predetermined degree of tension to the upper thread, so that the stitch is tightened on one side of the zigzag stitch in addition to the tightening of the stitch by a thread take-up lever.

摘要： When a lower thread is effected with tension by an upper thread, a lower thread tension device is actuated in a certain working distance with very small resistance to an extent that a lower thread is drawn as if without resistance. If the lower thread is effected with said tension outside of said distance, it is not drawn out with large resistance. An actuation means successively receives information about thread consumed in each of the stitches and information about rotation phase of the sewing machine from a phase sensor. In the distance of a strong resistance, the lower thread is prohibited from drawing, and the thread is tightened in this distance.
