    摘要: A metal layer is formed on a highly light-transmissive substrate; a resist mask having an opening pattern is formed on the metal layer; exposed portions of the metal layer is etched away in this state to form openings; then the resist mask is removed; and a surface of the metal layer and an inner side wall of each of the openings are oxidized to form a metal oxide layer. Thus, a front surface and a rear surface of the aperture plate are caused to have different reflectances. The oxide layer is formed at the same time as when the resist mask is ashed to remove resist.

    摘要: The present invention provides an image display device that is capable of reducing the power consumption. The total power consumption of a level shifter is reduced by using a pulse of an oscillator circuit as an enable signal of a level shifter for amplifying the enable signal to be supplied to a group of level shifters. The image display device includes an oscillator circuit, a first level shifter, and a plurality of second level shifters, which are mounted on a substrate and formed with thin-film transistors. The plurality of second level shifters each has a shutdown function for reducing the power consumption of the level shifters. The shutdown function of the first level shifter is controlled by an output pulse of the oscillator circuit. The shutdown function of the group of second level shifters is controlled by an output pulse of the first level shifter.

The total power consumption of a level shifter is reduced by using a pulse of an oscillator circuit as an enable signal of a level shifter for amplifying the enable signal to be supplied to a group of level shifters.     摘要: The present invention realizes a liquid crystal display device which can be driven with a low voltage while preventing the degradation of liquid crystal by reducing a residual charge of a pixel electrode even when a drive circuit is abnormally stopped. As a field effect transistor which is formed on a pixel, a field effect transistor in a depletion mode which is turned on in a state that an OFF signal is not applied to a gate terminal of the transistor is used. A substrate voltage supply line which supplies a substrate voltage to pixel regions is provided, and the substrate voltage is supplied via a through hole formed in the pixel portion thus controlling an optimum threshold value in response to an input signal. Wiring is made in a peripheral portion of a display region such that video signal lines and the substrate voltage supply line intersect each other.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus has horizontal and vertical scanning circuits for scanning an array of pixels. An image signal applied to an image signal supply circuit in the form of series of pixel signals is transferred to pixels in the array of pixels designated by the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits. Each of the horizontal and vertical scanning circuits have a series connection of bidirectional shift register stages and are capable of bidirectional scanning. Each of the bidirectional shift register stages includes a pair of latches connected in tandem and is capable of providing an intermediate output and a shift register stage output. The pair of latches of each of the bidirectional shift register stages except those located at both ends of the series connection have respective intermediate and bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to designation of pixels to which pixel signals are to be supplied, while the pair of latches of the shift register stages located at each end of the series connection have their bidirectional shift register stage outputs contributing to such designation of pixels and their intermediate output terminals not contributing to such designation of pixels.
