    摘要: The present invention provides a sugar-modified liposome having a sugar chain bonded to its membrane surface, preferably through a linker protein, and having excellent absorption qualities, particularly in the intestine. The molecular structure and quantity of the sugar chain is selectively varied to allow the liposome to be delivered in a targeted manner to selected cells and tissues. The liposome is applicable to medicinal drugs, cosmetics and other various products in the medical/pharmaceutical fields, and it is especially useful in a therapeutic drug delivery system that recognizes target cells and tissues, such as cancer cells, and in the delivery of drugs or genes locally to a selected region, or in a diagnostic cell/tissue sensing probe.

    摘要: A technique for detecting whether or not a pinhole is present in an organic film on a concrete surface, by detecting the conductivity of the concrete in advance. In the bottom portion of a measuring means body having a high-frequency oscillator accommodated therein, there are disposed electrodes which are insulated from each other through an insulating plate. Two electrodes are provided in parallel and are placed in contact with the surface of the lining film coating the surface of the concrete body. Thus, the electrodes are held in contact with the surface of the lining film, and a high-frequency signal is fed from the high-frequency oscillator to between the electrodes. Then, by detecting the specific dielectric, constant of the concrete body or the base body indirectly from the surface layer of the organic film without breaking the organic film formed on the surface to expose the surface of the concrete body, the conductivity of the concrete can be examined from the correlation between the specific dielectric constant and the water content, as investigated in advance, and the correlation between the water content and the electric resistance.

    摘要: A water meter eliminates the usual conversion gear trains by using a permanent magnet which rotates in proportion to the volume of water to be measured. A magnetic field sensor, comprising a ferromagnetic magnetoresistor, produces a sensor signal which varies as a function of the rotation of the magnet. A wave shaper forms the sensor signal into a sequence of pulses which drive a totalizer for producing a signal indicative of the volume of the water used. The output of the totalizer is supplied to an indicator device which displays the total amount of water passing through the meter, in terms of a predetermined unit of measure. Preferably, the sensor comprises at least two magnetoresistors for producing two sensor signals with a phase difference therebetween. The wave shaper then produces two pulse sequences for identifying a normal and an inverse flow of water, respectively. These two sequences cause the totalizer to count up or down, respectively.

    摘要: A two-part plug arrangement for a container includes an outer plug of soft resilient material and a mating inner plug of deformable material. The inner plug is seated within the outer plug, and the mating plugs are together seated within an opening of a wall of the container. Such opening has an annular turned-over wall along its circumference, and the outer plug has an annular flange adapted to engage such turned-over wall. The plugs are retained in place by being distorted radially outwardly whereby the outer plug sealingly engages the container opening and the two plugs are in sealing engagement with one another. One of the two plugs has a blind bottom, and upon the removal of the inner plug, the outer plug assumes its initial relaxed shape for removal thereof and reuse if desired.

    摘要: The amidation and esterification of carboxylic acids with amines and hydroxyl group-containing compounds, respectively, are effected without incurring the drawbacks of reaction equilibrium by the reaction of the reactants, one of which has been activated in the reactive group by contact with a phosphonium salt obtained by reacting a phosphorous ester or phosphorous monoester salt with an organic base such as pyridine and an oxidizing agent such as halogens and mono or divalent meercury halide or acetate. The amidation can be applied to the preparation of peptides by the reaction of amino acids and/or peptides in which one of the reactive groups have been protected.

    摘要: The invention provides a map display device and map display method that enhance the information density of displayed road names while maintaining legibility of a map image. First, the map drawing unit draws, to an image storage unit, a map image of roads and so forth in a desired scale, by using the background layer of a first hierarchy corresponding to the desired scale. Second, the map drawing unit draws place names and facility names by using the character layer of the first hierarchy to superimpose them on the map image. Third, the map drawing unit extracts the road names that do not overlap with the map characters of the place names and facility names on the map image by using the character layer of the first hierarchy, and superimposes them on the map image at the normal character size. Fourth, the map drawing unit extracts, by using the character layer of a second hierarchy corresponding to a scale level smaller by one step than the desired scale level, road names that do not overlap with the map characters of the other road names, place names, facility names and so forth on the map image, and superimposes them on the map image at a smaller character size. Finally, the map drawing unit superimposes the vehicle position mark on the map image.
