    摘要: A differential phase detection device receives first through fourth detection signals from a photodetector and detects a differential phase signal therefrom, the differential phase detection device includes a slicer slicing and digitizing each of the detection signals with respect to a reference level. A synthesizer synthesizes the digitized detection signals and generates therefrom synthesis signals. A phase difference detector compares phases of the synthesis signals and outputs a first phase difference signal and a second phase difference signal. A matrix circuit processes the first and second phase difference signals to output the differential phase signal.

The optical reproducing apparatus may include an optical pickup reading out data from an optical disk, an automatic gain controller operating in one of a first amplification mode and a second amplification mode, and a main controller controlling an amplification mode of the automatic gain controller according to the location of the optical pickup. In the first amplification mode, the automatic gain controller amplifies a gain of a RF signal read out by the optical pickup at a fixed amplification rate for a recoding area of the optical disk, and in the second amplification mode, the automatic gain controller adjusts adaptively an amplification rate according to an input level of the RF signal for a non-recording area of the optical disk.

    摘要: A digital signal recording circuit compensates for the deterioration of a digital signal that occurs during recording and reduces the occurrence of bit errors during playback in a digital signal recording and playback apparatus. The circuit includes a read/write circuit which records and reads digital signals to and from a recording medium and which relays its data to a playback circuit for reproducing digital signals read from the recording medium. The circuit also provides an input signal processing circuit which converts along signals into processed digital signals for recording and a compensation circuit which both amplifies the digital signal for recording and compensates for bit deterioration caused by frequency variations in the processed digital signals.
