摘要: A method and system for conducting meetings, e.g. making it easy for the user to connect his device to the meeting or come to a common shared view of the meeting content, where all devices participating in the meeting are located within one physical meeting room. In another embodiment, at least some devices are located outside the meeting room. In principle there is no meeting room necessary, but all devices can be distributed anywhere in a region or in the world, and after connection, the meeting content is shared to all physical meeting rooms and remote devices of the system.

摘要: A system and method provide enhanced perceived contrast within a region of interest (102) of an image being displayed in order to enable viewers to more easily perceive subtle features in images, such as during medical diagnostics. The enhanced perceived contrast may be implemented using software only, hardware only, or a combination of hardware and software. If the backlight of a display includes only one or few light sources, the enhanced perceived contrast can be achieved through a software only solution in which the area (104) outside of the ROI (102) is darkened. If the backlight of the display comprises, for example, an LED matrix, enhanced perceived contrast may be implemented through a hardware only solution in which the luminance of the display is increased in the ROI (102). In addition, enhanced perceived contrast may also be achieved through a solution utilizing both hardware and software.

摘要: The present invention provides a light source apparatus (10) for use with a projector (80) and a method for combining laser beams of different polarization characterized in that an overall efficiency for the reflection and transmission exceeding 97% is achieved. A first white laser light beam (18) having a first polarization is combined with a second white laser light beam (28) having a second polarization that is orthogonal to the first polarization by utilizing a multi narrow-band polarizing beam splitter (20) positioned to receive the first and the second white laser light beams (18, 28). Embodiments of the present invention utilize two laser light sources (12, 22) emitting two sets of laser light beams with multiple wavelengths (14, 15, 16 and 24, 25, 26).

摘要: A method and system are presented directed to a light valve projector with a laser-phosphor light converter. The phosphor converter converts excitation light in order to provide light to a light valve projector. The phosphor converter reduces the étendue of laser-phosphor light sources using a light pipe integrator system. The light pipe integrator system includes a light pipe integrator configured to mix the excitation light and reduce the spot size of excitation light entering the system from, e.g., a laser array. The excitation light is imaged onto a phosphor as it exits the light pipe integrator. The phosphor emits fluorescent light, in response to being illuminated by the excitation light, that enters the light pipe integrator. The light pipe integrator reduces the emission angles of the fluorescent light while maintaining the étendue of the fluorescent light. The system and method may include a reflective polarizer to polarize the fluorescent light.

摘要: Systems and methods for constructing a thin film mirror are provided. The apparatus includes a vacuum chamber having edges. Adjacent the vacuum chamber is at least one extender having an edge that is spaced from and extending beyond the adjacent edge of the vacuum chamber in two directions. In this manner, the thin film does not contact the vacuum chamber until force is applied to the thin film, such as by mechanical tensioning mechanisms or application of a partial vacuum.

摘要: A system and method for measuring and quantifying image retention in a display device. The method involves displaying a test pattern (206, 306, 406, 606, 706) having at least one dark feature (210, 310, 410, 610) and at least one light feature (208, 308, 408, 608). The method further involves the displaying an analysis pattern (202, 302, 402, 602) having at one gradient feature (204, 304, 404, 604a-c) with a plurality of regions of different levels. The levels of the gradient feature may then be matched up with the levels displayed in the regions formerly displaying the dark feature (210, 310, 410, 610) and/or the light feature (208, 308, 408, 608). Thus, image retention may be determined by visual inspection.
