    摘要: An intramedullary pin for insertion into the medullary space of the femur through the lateral compacta of the trochanter major. The pin has a proximal pin section and an adjoining distal pin section. Each pin section includes one or more bores for one or more bone screws. The proximal pin section has at least one bore running obliquely to the longitudinal axis, so that bone screws can be inserted through the bore into the head of the femur, or a screw can be inserted in the antegrade direction through the bore. The distal pin section is at least partly straight and the proximal pin section has a curvature in the lateral-posterior direction.

The tubular thread section (2) comprises a bone thread (22) on its outer wall, and the wall of the thread section (2) comprises a plurality of recesses (21). The bone screw further includes a holding element (4, 6) with a first section (41, 61) for connection to the thread section (2) and with a rod-like second section (43, 63) which in the inserted state of the holding element (4, 6) protrudes beyond the second end of the thread section (2). A stop is provided for limiting the distance of insertion of the holding element (4, 6) in the thread section (2). The holding element (4, 6) comprises an element (44, 64) at its free end for engagement with a screw-in tool.

    摘要: An intramedullary nail has a proximal part for engagement with a proximal bone fragment and a distal part for engagement with a distal bone fragment. A motion assembly interconnects the parts and allows limited axial relative motion of the proximal and distal parts. This limited axial motion provides micromotion and in some embodiments also dynamisation. The nail may comprise a stem for fastening to one bone fragment and an insert within the stem for fastening to the other bone fragment, the insert being adapted to guide insertion of a bone screw through the stem and to prevent relative rotation of the distal and proximal bone fragments. The motion assembly may include spring bias and/or damping means between the parts, possibly including one or more Belleville washers.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of reattaching a bone fragment to a proximal humerus of a humerus in a shoulder joint. The method includes introducing a distal end of the humeral nail into a medullary canal of the humerus. A first proximal screw is engaged with the bone fragment and a first proximal bore in the proximal end of the humeral nail to move the bone fragment toward the proximal humerus. The humeral nail and the attached bone fragment are rotated relative to the medullary canal of the humerus to position the bone fragment to an anatomically optimal location. The bone fragment is preferably one of a greater or lesser tuberosity of the proximal humerus. The method and apparatus can be used to reattach bone fragments in a variety of other joints.

    摘要: Apparatus for bone reinforcement, fixation and treatment of diseased or fractured bones including a supporting structure optionally coated with therapeutic agent is provided. The supporting structure or device may be collapsible upon deployment at the surgical site, and include fixation features such as anchors to securely position in place once deployed. Bone cement or other material may be provided to alternatively secure the positioned supporting structure for treatment. A lockable bone fixation device is described that comprises: a sleeve adapted to be positioned in a space formed in a bone; a guidewire adapted to guide movement of the sleeve; and an actuable lock adapted to secure the sleeve within the space of the bone from an end of the device.
