Abstract:
A device for applying a painted pinstripe to a surface includes a paint applicator having an adaptor for attaching a paint striping wheel head to a low profile paint container. A traveler adjustably coupled to the applicator is moveable along a magnetized flexible guide track in order to control direction of the paint applicator as an annular paint carrying surface of the striping wheel is rolled against the surface being pinstriped. The paint applicator is adjustably positionable on a connecting arm extending from the traveler for controlling and adjusting the distance of the striping wheel relative to the guide track. The paint applicator is also pivotally adjustable relative to the connecting arm and the guide track to accommodate for variations in surface configuration and contour so that the annular surface of the striping wheel is maintained in flat contact with the work surface to produce a uniform painted pinstripe.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for applying and/or spreading liquid or pasty substances for coating surfaces, especially paists, varnishes and lacquers on the surface of objects (2). The device has at least two pinions (7, 7′) the axes of which are arranged substantially parallel in relation to the object's surface to be coated. The spindles are provided with circumferential brush-like spreaders (8). At least one spindle can be moved across the surface of the object, with the object being moved along the brush-like spreaders.
Abstract:
An improved chip termination or application wheel for applying a layer of silver paste to the edge or end of a chip including a wheel that is defined by a broad circumferential surface, for contact with the chip, the surface containing an increased surface area for accepting a larger amount of termination paste for transfer to the edge of a chip.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a treating device 1, especially a rotating transverse gluing mechanism for high-speed, register mark-related paper or film webs 2. The movements of the transverse gluing mechanism 1 are synchronized with the web 2, and the transverse gluing mechanism has an independent synchronous drive 6 with a drive motor 7 and a regulating unit for this purpose. The electronic regulating unit compensates variations in the synchronism of the running web 2.
Abstract:
Apparatus for application of coating color on a profiled edge or straight edge area of a workpiece, includes a motor-driven applicator roll for coating the workpiece, with the applicator roll having a diameter in the range of 200 to 300 mm for effecting a same coat texture on the narrow surfaces and on the primary surfaces of the workpiece when using a same coating material. The applicator is comprised of two structural assemblies which are connected by a quick-release coupling, with the first structural assembly being formed by a motor-and-gear unit and a mounting, and the second structural assembly being formed by the applicator roll, a plate supporting the shaft of the applicator roll, a doctor being positionally adjustable relative to the applicator roll and a pump for supplying coating color onto the applicator roll.
Abstract:
A coating process for coating traveling webs comprises applying a first coating layer of a pigment substance on a portion of the shell surface of a rotatable roll not covered by the material web, and pressing the pigment substance onto the web in a press gap, thereby impregnating the web. This makes it possible to apply with maximum uniformity and without web breaks and wrinkles a second coating layer of a pigment substance immediately successive to the application of the first layer, while the first layer is still moist.
Abstract:
The coating device features a first applicator which, to begin with, forces coating substance applied on the shell of a web roll (1), in a press gap formed between said roll and a press roll (2), into the web (W), thereby impregnating it. This makes it possible to apply with maximum uniformity and without web breaks and wrinkles, immediately successively, a second coating layer during the still wet condition of the first layer where, naturally, again a web guide roll (3) is provided.
Abstract:
Apparatus and a method are disclosed for automatically applying uniform amounts of oily lubricant to electrical contact tabs on one or more edges on one or both sides of a printed circuit card, simultaneously, by conveying the card past one or more lubrication stations in wiping contact with free rolling rollers adapted for contacting a wick continuously supplied with lubricant.
Abstract:
A coating applicator for a suspended cable comprises a housing defining a coating reservoir and having a roller rotatably mounted in said housing that is at least partly immersed in the coating reservoir. The coating roller includes a peripheral groove defined by tapered walls adapted to receive the cable therein. In one form of the invention, a pair of brackets support suspension rollers from opposite sides of the housing so that each suspension roller is spaced from the other and aligned over the groove in the coating roller from opposite sides of the cable. The housing includes a fluid coupling for connection with a conduit in fluid communication between the coating reservoir and a reversible pump which is in fluid communication with a supply reservoir, so that a predetermined level of fluid can be maintained in the coating reservoir and so that the coating can be drained from the reservoir when the coating operation is completed. A portion of the conduit can be rigid so that the rigid structure forms a handle for maneuvering the applicator. Another form of the invention comprises an open top housing which can be closed by a lid pivotally mounted to the housing. In such a housing, one or more spray nozzles can be used to discharge coating at extremely high pressure on the cable.
Abstract:
A gravure-type gummer comprises a hollow cylindrical member 18 partly immersed in an adhesive container 10 and adapted to transfer a pattern of adhesive to a blank B movable in contact with the top of the member. The adhesive is held in a pattern of round bores 24 extending through the member, whose inside and outside peripheral surfaces are scraped clean of adhesive by scrapers 26 and 28.
