    摘要: A rotating suction chamber apparatus for sorting a mixture of materials comprises a cylindrical drum with its upper end is at a higher elevation than its lower end. An upper housing connected to the upper end has a material intake for receiving the mixture of materials for introduction to the upper end. The mixture of materials includes a light fraction and a heavy fraction, and the upper housing has an outlet for the light fraction. A suction hood connected to the light fraction outlet includes a light separator shaft with a substantially vertical portion, and an air blower is adapted to create an airflow from the lower end, to the upper end, through the light fraction outlet and through the suction hood. A rotator rotates the drum about its longitudinal axis so that the heavy fraction is moved through the drum and falls out of the lower end.

    摘要: Equipment and method for treating solid waste in which a substantially nonoxidizing atmosphere is provided through which the shredded solid waste falls under gravity, unsupported and non-contacted, to prevent fusion of the plastics with each other, with other materials in the solid waste, or with the walls or components in the treating equipment. The unique atmosphere also allows a high treatment temperature to accelerate the debonding of fibrous combustible matter and fusion of the plastics into dense particles for substantially complete separation and recovery of plastics from the lighter fibrous but non-fusible combustible matter through gas classification during the fall. This same atmosphere also produces a clean, substantially, homogeneous, storageable and highly combustible fuel derived from the fibrous combustible matter.

    摘要: A separator for combines has a reel and header, thresher cylinder, conveyor for moving threshed cereal grass, powering means and a housing comprising the combine structure thereof. The separator is comprised of an independently rotatable outer cylinder member having a duct therein and mounted within and powered by the combine. It has an inner cylinder with an air mover also powered by the combine in operation to recirculate air within the separator. In operation the outer cylinder while rotating receives threshed material from the conveyor, disposes same through a distributor to the stalk-grain separator and receives air from the air mover directing same through the duct to the central portion of the member against the outward motion of the grain, separating the grain from its stalk. Air is recirculated within the separator passing from the air mover through the duct, being discharged toward the central portion of the separator, passing through the inner cylinder member and into the air mover. The separator preferably has a dehumidifier having heat transfer coils within the duct and on the outside of the structure. The separator uses rotation and centrifugal force and opposed recirculating airflow to separate threshed cereal grass stalks and grain.
