    摘要: A compactor for compacting and dewatering debris comprises a housing having an inlet for enabling debris to be delivered to forwarding augers which forward the debris to a compaction chamber at the discharge end of the housing. The chamber has an outlet opening of less cross-sectional area than that of the chamber, thereby ensuring compaction of the debris as it moves toward discharge. Debris enroute to discharge may be sprayed with water to remove sludge-like substances which otherwise would cling to some types of debris.

    摘要: An improved twin screw extruder device (14) is provided which is capable of producing a wide variety of high quality extrudates having greatly varying final properties, without the need for extensive machine modifications. The extruder (14) includes a barrel (16) together with a co-rotating twin screw assembly (22). The assembly (22) is made up of a pair of screws (50, 52) having central, tapered shafts (54, 56) equipped with outwardly extending helical flighting (58, 60); the screws (50, 52) are non-parallel and are positioned so that the flighting (58, 60) thereof is intercalated along the length of the screws (50,52). The flighting is of specialized configuration and tapers along the length of the screws (50, 52) preferably at an angle of taper different than that of the shafts (54, 56); moreover, the width of the outer flighting surfaces (70, 72) increases along the length of the shafts (54, 56). This screw geometry defines a series of alternating upper and lower close-clearance high-pressure nip areas (78) defined by the flighting (58, 60) which serves to propel an extrudable mixture forwardly towards the outlet end (20) of the barrel (16). However, passageways (80) and kneading zones (82) are also defined between the screws (50, 52), which assures full mixing, shearing and cooking of the material. The extruder device (14) is capable of producing high density sinking aquatic feeds as well as expanded, low density products merely by changing the rotational speed of the screws (50, 52) together with appropriate temperature control. In another embodiment, a fluid extraction extruder (138) is provided having a specialized extruder head (140) including an outer shell (144) and an inner, elongated, slotted sleeve (152).

    摘要: The screw extruder has a casing (2-6) formed from several casing members (1) and in it are mounted screws (14) formed from screw members (10, 11). Between the casing members (3-6) are arranged orifice plates (19), which block the passage of the screws (10) with the exception of a restricted gap. A gear (26) is provided for driving the screw (10, 11). The screw shafts (12, 13) extend through the gear (26) and are supported on a thrust bearing, fixed by means of tie rods (25) to the casing (1). As a result of this construction, the screw press can be used for processing widely differing materials, without any significant modifications. Any liquid is removed by suction and the resulting solids are dried and can be briquetted by a shaping head.

C. in the downstream part of the extruder where it is contacted with an acid solution and progressively compressed, to a pressure higher than the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid phase of the hydrolyzed material at the temperature reached in the downstream part and maintained by a control device for the evacuation of the material. According to the invention, there is provided in the control device for the evacuation of the material, a separation of the liquid phase and of the solid phase from hydrolyzed material with maintenance of the output pressure, through the use for this purpose of a second extruder comprising two screws with axes perpendicular to that of the hydrolysis extruder, rotated within a sleeve into the central part of which the hydrolyzed material coming from the first extruder is discharged and in which a pressure is maintained higher than the saturated vapor pressure of the liquid phase by regulating the extrusion characteristics to form, at the downstream end of the output extruder, a plug of compressed material fluid-tight at said pressure, the latter being regulated by means of a pressure reducing valve controlling the evacuation of the liquid phase concentrated in the upstream part of the extruder and in which glucose formed by hydrolysis is dissolved.
