摘要: A processing apparatus to melt animal fat, in which an animal raw fat material is transported by a pump, through a microwave chamber and heated, the processing apparatus includes at least one solid-state radio frequency source that is configured to generate microwave energy, one or more sensors, and a control system. The at least one solid-state radio frequency source is configured to generate and transmit the microwave energy to the animal raw fat material, the one or more sensors are configured to measure the microwave energy that is reflected from the animal raw fat material, and the control system is configured to compare the transmitted microwave energy to the reflected microwave energy and then, based on the comparison, the control system is configured to adjust any additional microwave energy that is transmitted by the at least one solid-state radio frequency source to the animal raw fat material.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a pyrolysis method. The method involves providing a biomass and subjecting the biomass, in a reactor operating under conditions of parasitic heat loss of less than 1% of the biomass' chemical energy content, to partial oxidation where, during steady state operation of the reactor, oxygen is provided to the reactor in sufficient quantity to achieve an equivalence ratio of 0.06 to 0.15 to release sufficient energy to support endothermic pyrolysis reactions and produce condensable organic compounds as the major portion of the pyrolysis products.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for continuous fuel production are provided. Some embodiments may utilize two pyrolysis platforms, which may utilize biomass as a feedstock. One platform may generally utilize a high temperature pyrolysis process that may generate at least hydrogen and carbon monoxide. This high temperature gas stream may be fed into a lower temperature fast pyrolysis stream as a cover gas. The hot cover gas may react with the fast pyrolysis vapors hydrotreating while the vapors may still be hot and the molecules may still be small. The reacted product may then be distilled on the cool down. This may provide a rapid continuous process for the production of liquid fuels from biomass or other compounds that include carbon-oxygen-hydrogen (C—O—H) compounds.

摘要: A process for dry fractionation of fats and oils, by providing a fat-and-oil feedstock having an SFI at 20.degree. C. of at least 15; pre-cooling the fat-and-oil feedstock to a temperature of, at the highest, 3.degree. C. higher than that of a cooling medium to be used for crystallization; allowing the pre-cooled fat-and-oil feedstock to stand while further cooling the feedstock with the cooling medium to form fat crystals and to obtain cakes containing fat crystals; and subjecting the cakes to separation of solids from a liquid phase.

摘要: A low temperature rendering process for converting animal trimmings to a meat product which can be classified as finely textured meat. The low temperature rendering process includes the steps of heating desinewed animal trimmings in a heat exchanger having a first-in and first-out arrangement to provide heating of the desinewed animal trimmings to a temperature in the range of about 90.degree. F. to about 110.degree. F. to form a heated slurry; separating a solids stream and a liquids stream from the heated slurry, the solids stream containing an increased amount of protein and moisture, and the liquids stream containing an increased amount of tallow, water soluble protein, and moisture; separating a heavy phase and a light phase from the liquids stream, the heavy phase containing an increased amount of moisture and water soluble protein, and the light phase containing an increased amount of tallow; and combining the solids stream and the heavy phase to form a meat product.

摘要: A rendering system and method is provided for the rendering of organic materials into its major components comprising water, fat and solid proteins. The process involves mixing additional fat with the raw material to form a pumpable slurry including fat and water emulsions. The slurry is treated to break the emulsions and insolubilize the protein solids wherein the fat becomes a continuous phase fat in the slurry and the water becomes a continuous phase water. The treating comprises adding fat to the raw material having a temperature within the range of 140.degree. F. to 270.degree. F. in an amount such that the ratio of added fat to the dry defatted solids of the slurry is in the range of 4 to 1 to 6 to 1, respectively. The treating further includes partially drying the slurry such that at least 15 percent by weight of water as measured as a percentage of total water and defatted solids remains with the solids which discharge from the partial drying step as part of the partially dried slurry. The treated slurry is centrifuged to split the slurry into at least two streams, a first stream comprising wet solids and a second stream comprising fat. The fat contains less than 0.2 percent insoluble solids. The wet solids are dried and produced as a finished product with less than 6 percent residual fat.

摘要: An improved rendering process and system including the use of both a slurry evaporator and cooker. Renderable material is ground and mixed with oil to form a slurry which is then cooked under vacuum in an evaporator to remove some moisture. The resulting partially dewatered slurry is partially deoiled, and the solids residue resulting from deoiling is cooked in a cooker to remove additional moisture. The hot vapors generated by cooking the material in the cooker are used in the steam jacket of the evaporator. Preferably the dewatered solids residue from the cooker is further deoiled.

摘要: Animal raw material is boiled at least mainly by indirect heating and then divided into stick water and solids, the solids being separately dried to form a first meat meal fraction.
