Apparatuses and methods for dispensing magnetic stripe cards, smart cards, other cards, and/or other items from kiosks and other structures are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a card dispensing apparatus includes at least a first card hopper and a card transport assembly. The first card hopper is configured to hold a stack of cards that includes at least a first card stacked on a second card. The card transport assembly includes a card carrier moveable between a first position proximate to the first card hopper and a second position spaced apart from the first card hopper. The card carrier is configured to lift the first card off the second card when the card carrier is in the first position. The card carrier is further configured to release the first card toward an outlet when the card carrier is in the second position. In one embodiment, the card carrier can move the first card past a card reader/writer for reading information from, and/or writing information to, the card as it carries the card from the first position to the second position.

A tape dispensing device is comprised of a means for rotatably supporting a roll of tape. A means for adhering to the tape and pulling the tape forwardly is positioned forwardly of the supporting means. The adhering means and pulling means is rotatably supported. A motor means is provided for imparting rotation to said adhering and pulling means. Means for cutting the tape means is positioned forwardly of said adhering and pulling means. A switch means is provided for actuating the motor continuously while said actuating means is engaged. Also a shaping means is positioned above the path of travel of the tape to urge the tape against the adhering and pulling means, the adhering and pulling means including a set of feed rollers. The shaping means is positioned between a pair of adjacent feed rollers, the lowermost edge of the shaping means being positioned below the uppermost edge of said pair of adjacent feed rollers forming a structural indentation in said tape. A handle means is formed in the housing means for gripping said housing means and directing the dispensing means to dispense tape to a selected location.

The first stage printing press delivery table has a plurality of driven rollers for increasing the advancing speed of a paper and an upwardly adjustable bracket structure extending above the plurality of driven rollers. The inline delivery vehicle comprises: a first vehicle side positioned perpendicular and proximate the plurality of driven rollers and a second vehicle side positioned perpendicular and proximate the plurality of driven rollers and adjacent the first vehicle side. The first vehicle side and the second vehicle side are removably connected to the upwardly adjustable bracket structure. A plurality of adjustable longitudinally spaced rollers are rotatably connected to and positioned between the first vehicle side and the second vehicle side and the plurality of adjustable longitudinally spaced rollers each have an axis parallel to one another and are positioned parallel and proximate the plurality of driven rollers. A belt tension roller assembly is pivotably connected to and positioned between the first vehicle side and the second vehicle side, the belt tension roller assembly has a tension roller axis being extended parallel and distal the axis of each of the plurality of adjustable longitudinally spaced rollers and a belt is removably coupled to the plurality of adjustable longitudinally spaced rollers and the belt tension roller assembly for rotation of the belt and delivery of the paper. The belt tension roller assembly and the plurality of adjustable longitudinally spaced rollers provide adjustable tension to the belt and the belt is removably and uniformly driven by the plurality of driven rollers to speedily advance the paper.

A method for accurately controlling a medium displacement in an inkjet printer is provided by accurately determining a relation between an actuation signal for a drive motor and a medium displacement. The method comprises the steps of establishing a set of calibration actuation signals each corresponding to a nominal calibration step and determining an achieved medium displacement step for each calibration actuation signal in the set. The set comprises at least one calibration actuation signal for actuating the drive motor to make one full revolution and at least one calibration actuation signal for actuating the drive motor to make a rotation larger than one full revolution, but smaller than two full revolutions. Both a cyclic deviation and a local deviation of the nominal displacement relation is determined based on a finite series of basis functions.

A paper feeding device and a multi-function printer using the same are provided. The paper feeding device includes a frame, a top cover, a set of gear chains, a power unit and a set of driving gears. The set of gear chains and the power unit are disposed on a side of the frame. The set of driving gears is disposed on the top cover. When the top cover is closed relatively to the frame, the set of driving gears interferes with the power unit, and the power unit provides a power to enable the set of driving gears to rotate, so as to drive the set of gear chains. When the top cover is opened relatively to the frame, the set of driving gears releases interference with the power unit and the set of gear chains, and the set of gear chains is at a free rotation status.
