Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus and image forming method that can prevent a decrease in image quality by preventing a step-out of a driving source, which occurs because a load of a feeding device is applied when a medium is transported for image formation. When no roller reset operation, by which a paper feed roller is returned to a reset position, is performed (YES in S21), it is judged whether a counted value N of a counter, which indicates a position of a sheet of paper, is below a threshold value Na, which indicates that it is in an A region in which a load of a hopper or paper return levers of an automatic sheet feeder (ASF) is applied to a stepping motor (S22). When N
Abstract:
To prevent deviation in a processing position of a sheet bundle caused by buckling of the sheet bundle and handle a number of diversified kinds of sheets without increasing the size of apparatuses, a sheet processing apparatus and a image forming apparatus includes a pair of saddle entrance rollers which discharges a sheet; a stack tray which stacks the sheet discharged by the roller pair; a gripping member which grips the rear end portion of the sheet in the discharging direction which is stacked by the tray; a gripper which grips the front end portion of the sheet in the discharging direction which is stacked by the tray; and a stapler, etc., which processes a sheet bundle at a processing position, wherein the gripping member and the gripper grip the sheet bundle stacked by the tray and move the sheet bundle to the processing position in cooperation with each other.
Abstract:
A medium conveying apparatus for conveying a recording medium includes an apparatus body and a conveying control unit. A paper feeding unit is detachable mounted to the apparatus body and includes a record medium enclosing section and a paper feeding section. First and second conveying sections are downstream from the paper feeding section. A third conveying section is between the paper feeding section and the first conveying section. The conveying control unit controls the third conveying section to convey the record medium before the front edge of the record medium arrives at the first conveying section, controls the first and the third conveying sections to convey the record medium before the front edge of the record medium arrives at the second conveying section and stops the third conveying section from operating after the front edge of the record medium arrives at the second conveying section.
Abstract:
A sheet aligning apparatus includes a tray device for piling and storing sheets from a sheet outlet, a sheet discharging and delivering device arranged above the tray device, and a shift device for moving the sheet discharging and delivering device between an operating position of pressing the uppermost sheet with predetermined pressing force and a non-operating position of lightening or releasing pressing force. The apparatus also includes a regulating stopper member for colliding the sheets sent by the sheet discharging and delivering device at the sheet front or back ends for regulating sheet position, an aligning device for regulating the sheets on the tray in a direction crossing the sheet discharging direction, and a control device for controlling the sheet discharging and delivering device, the shift device and the aligning device.
Abstract:
In a method of aligning a sheet on a tray, the sheet on the tray is transferred toward a stopper member in one direction by a transfer device. Then, the sheet is moved in a sheet width direction perpendicular to the one direction to align the sheet in the sheet width direction by an aligning device. Further, force is provided to the sheet on the tray to move the sheet in the one direction by the transfer device while the aligning device regulates the sheet in the sheet width direction.
Abstract:
In a sheet stacking apparatus, a sheet stacking unit stacks sheets conveyed by a sheet conveyance device. Three sheet extraction portions allow to selectively extract the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit from one of three directions including the downstream side of the sheet conveyance direction and two directions perpendicular to the sheet conveyance direction. A plurality of first detection sensors are provided in at least two of the three sheet extraction portions to detect an object that enters the sheet stacking unit. A second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit. A control device stops the operation of the sheet conveyance device when the first detection sensor detects the object, and disables the detection operation of the first detection sensor corresponding to the moving direction of the sheets when the second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets.
Abstract:
A store for storing value sheets such as banknotes in a stack and for dispensing the value notes from the stack. When more than a single value sheet is dispensed from the stack, the store returns all but one of the value sheets to the stack while moving the stack to reduce friction between the returning value sheet and the topmost value sheet of the stack. Means for securing the stack are also provided: a support for the stack is anchored and/or extra pressure is applied to the stack. The store includes means for indicating when the stack contains more than a predetermined number of value sheets and means for preventing securing of the store when the predetermined number of value sheets is exceeded. A value sheet store with part of a sidewall integrally formed with the lid. A value sheet store which includes a lid attached to a housing by a hinge located on an edge of the housing. Apparatus and a method for determining the height of a stack of value sheets. A shutter arrangement in a value sheet store which acts to block an aperture through which value sheets are dispensed.
Abstract:
A sheet processing apparatus is operable to cut an edge portion of a sheet. The sheet processing apparatus is operable to calculate a sheet utilization efficiency based on an area of the sheet before cutting and an area of a sheet obtained by cutting the edge portion.
Abstract:
A recording apparatus has a paper feeder wherein single sheets of paper can be set, a paper delivery device for transporting paper fed from the paper feeder to a recorder, and a control unit for controlling operation of the paper feeder and the paper delivery device. The control unit has a skew removal execution mode of only the first sheet of paper where the paper tip is bitten into a paper delivery roller forming a part of the paper delivery device and then the paper delivery roller is reversely rotated for ejecting the paper tip for the first sheet of paper at the start of recording and then forward rotating the paper delivery roller for delivering the sheet of paper whose skew is removed to the recorder and delivering the second and later sheets of paper to a record area without executing the skew removal.
Abstract:
A sheet processing apparatus is disclosed which is capable of preventing a motor from losing synchronization when initializing a roller position at power-up time, even if a diagonal feed mechanism does not have a sensor for detecting a position of a diagonal feed roller pair.
