    摘要: A method for imparting resistance to staining to a substrate comprising contacting the substrate with a copolymer comprising the monomers of Formula wherein D is at least one vinyl monomer selected from the group consisting of aryl olefin, alpha olefin and diene, each M is independently H, Ca, Mg, Al, Na, or K, each R1 is independently H, C1-C6 alkyl, or C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl, each R2 is independently linear or branched C1-C12 alkyl, C1-C6 hydroxyalkyl, C6F5, arylalkyl, C6H4OH, R3COOH, or R3SO3H, or R1 and R2 are linked together to form a morpholino or pyrrolidino ring, R3 is linear or branched C1-C12 alkyl, CH(COOH)CH2CH2, C6H4, or C6H3(OH), h1+h2 is h, h is a positive integer, k is zero or a positive integer, i and j are each independently zero or a positive integer, provided that the total of 1) h÷(k+h+i+j) is from about 0.005 to about 0.7, 2) k÷(k+h+i+j) is from about 0.3 to about 0.6, 3) [i+j]÷(k+h+i+j) is 0 to about 0.6, and provided that the sum of 1)+2)+3) is 1.0, said monomers occurring in any sequence.

    摘要: A fluorochemical composition for rendering fibrous substrates oil repellent, water repellent, and/or stain repellent and comprising a fluorinated polymer dispersed in water or dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent, the fluorinated polymer comprising units derived from (i) a mixture of two or more fluorinated polyether monomers that differ in at least their molecular weight, the fluorinated polyether monomers having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a perfluorinated polyether group and wherein at least 90% by weight of the mixture consists of fluorinated polyether monomers that have a perfluorinated polyether group having a molecular weight of at least 750 g/mol and (ii) one or more units derived from one or more co-monomers other than a fluorinated polyether monomer and wherein the co-monomers comprise at least one non-fluorinated monomer.     摘要: A natural strip or strip-based weaving or weave fabric product or a natural strip or strip-based woven product is coated and protected with a crosslinking polyvinyl acetate (XPVAc or x-PVAc) adhesive. Said adhesive is applied and cured on the exterior surfaces of said product as a first coating layer or a primer in combination with a coating layer of acrylic, alkyd, asphalt, epoxy, latex, polyurethane, silicone coatings, urethane, vinyl ester, etc. coated over the cured adhesive as a second coating layer or a topcoat. Said product is woven or fabricated with stalks, stakes, staves, stems, sticks, strands, shoots, splints, straws, strings, twigs, bark, branches, laths, leaves, rods, roots, whicker, etc. of a fiber plant, a tree, or a crop, or the combination thereof.

    摘要: A method for forming a metallic nanoparticle and semiconductor coated surface, such as the surface of a fiber or other material is provided. The method can include the steps of coating at least one surface of a material, for example a textile material, with a semiconducting layer, and providing metallic nanoparticles on the semiconducting layer. The steps for coating a surface of a material with a semiconducting layer can include forming a titanium dioxide film on the surface of the textile or other material. The steps for depositing and/or providing metallic nanoparticles on the semiconducting layer can include immersing a surface having a semiconductor layer into a metallic nanoparticle precursor solution, drying the semiconductor layer, and exposing the semiconductor layer on the surface to UV radiation. The metallic nanoparticles can include gold and/or silver nanoparticles. Also disclosed are surface treated materials having a semiconductor layer thereon, wherein the semiconductor layer is treated to include metallic nanoparticles. The surface treated materials may comprise surfaces of a textile material, such as fibers. The surface treated materials are anti-microbial and resistant to peeling, as well as non-toxic to biological surfaces, such as skin. Treated fiber materials may be used in garments, masks, and other products that contact the skin, that are free of toxic/rash side effects.
