    摘要: The invention provides a novel bleaching composition comprising:(a) an oxidatively stable bleach activator having the structure ##STR1## wherein Y.sub.1, Y.sub.3 and Y.sub.4 each represents a bridging group, i.e., zero, one, two or three carbon containing nodes for substitution while Y.sub.2 is a bridging group of at least one carbon containing node for substitution, each said node containing a C(R), C(R.sub.1)(R.sub.2), or a C(R).sub.2 unit and each R substituent is the same or different from the remaining R substituent and is selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkynyl, alkylaryl, halogen, alkoxy, or phenoxy, CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, CF.sub.1 and combinations thereof, or form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring of which two carbon atoms in the ring form notes in the Y unit, or together with a paired R substituent bound to the same carbon atom form a cycloalkyl or cyloalkenyl ring, which may include an atom other than carbon, e.g., cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl; M is a transition metal with oxidation states of I, II, III, IV, V or VI, or selected IV from Groups VIA, VIIA, VIII, and IB; Q is any counterion which would balance the charge of the compound on a stoichiometric basis; L is any labile ligand; and,(b) an effective amount of a source of peroxy compound.

    摘要: A process for peroxide bleaching of pulp using magnesium oxide as sole alkaline source wherein said pulp is bleached in the presence of hydrogen peroxide for a maximum period of 180 minutes and achievement of a maximum target ISO brightness of 65 in regard to freshly prepared pulp characterized in that said magnesium oxide is utilized as MgO particles having a particle size of 5-500 microns and a particle surface area (PSA) of between 20-60 m.sup.2 /g. By using such parameters, a peroxide bleaching process may be carried out most efficiently on a commercial scale.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for bleaching preoxidized paper pulp enabling a pulp having a very high degree of whiteness to be obtained with a limited number of treatment steps and enabling pollution to be reduced without degrading the qualities of the pulp; such a process essentially comprises the combination of the three successive treatment steps, namely:(a) a first step of hot chlorination with gaseous chlorine at a temperature of between about 30.degree. and 80.degree. C., and preferably between 35.degree. and 50.degree. C., in the presence of urea used at a rate of 0.5 to 5% by weight of the chlorine used, and preferably from 1 to 3%, with a concentration of pulp of between 3 and 30%, and a duration of retention of the chlorine of 30 seconds to 45 minutes;(b) a second step of alkaline extraction in the presence of an oxidizing agent of the hypochlorite or peroxide type, at a temperature of between about 30.degree. and 70.degree. C., and at a pH of between about 8 and 12, and preferably between 10.5 and 11.5, and(c) a third step of treatment with chlorine dioxide, at a temperature of between 60.degree. and 90.degree. C. and preferably between 70.degree. and 80.degree. C., at an initial pH of between 5 and 11, and preferably between 7 and 9,a recycling of the effluents of the second and/or the third treatment step for intermediate washing preceding the corresponding step being provided.
