    摘要： A universal stud for use with demountable wall partitions and demountable ceiling panels is provided. A base having a first end and a second end is provided. The base has sufficient structure for removably engaging a demountable wall partition and/or a demountable ceiling panel. A plurality of arms extend from the base. Two arms and the base define a channel for receiving either the demountable wall partition or the demountable ceiling panel. The universal stud can be oriented vertically to accept a demountable wall partition, or, can be oriented horizontally to receive either the demountable wall partition or the demountable ceiling panel.

    摘要： The invention concerns a building element which is a stud (10) having a number of channels (12). Each channel can receive a cooperating means (14) which can be used to mount a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining clip (16) which can be connected to a panel or bracket. The joining clip includes the cooperating means (14) for mounting a panel or bracket on the stud. The invention also concerns a building element which is a joining element (42) which can connect one panel to another. The joining element is hinged (46). The invention also discloses two types of bracket for mounting in the stud. The first type has a screw-threaded shaft (71) and a sleeve (72) with cooperating means (73) at one end of the sleeve. The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The bracket may thereafter be locked into position in the channel. The second type of bracket has two arms (81, 82) at an angle to each other (83). Cooperating means (84) are located at one end of one arm (81). The cooperating means is shaped so that it can be inserted horizontally in a channel of the stud and rotated so that the cooperating means cannot be withdrawn horizontally from the channel. The one arm of the bracket may thereafter be pushed into position in the channel. A track (60) is adapted to be hung from a horizontal surface (61), the track having a gutter (59) adapted to receive a connecting clip (63) attached to an end of a panel (18), the track also having a channel (59) adapted to receive a masking clip (64) adapted to conceal the end of the channel.

The resilience of the beam helps to attenuate sound transmission through the beam from one lateral member to the other. In particular, in a wall frame, beams according to the present invention are mounted at opposite ends thereof to end plates. In one example, the end plates include slits into which the webs of the beams can be received. The resilient web according to the present invention is conveniently made from a unitary piece of material such as, for example, steel.

By selecting a suitable trim from the plurality, and fitting it onto an edge of a panel by way of a channel or receiving portion provided thereon, it is possible to use existing studs and double finger T-clips to combine a variety of different panels together while taking advantage of a propriety type connection flanges which may be formed on some of the panels which are available.

Small holes are formed in the outer face of the loosely folded flange to permit cooler air from the unexposed side of the stud to enter the void within the loosely folded flange, where the air rises and cools the stud, and/or they permit heated air rising within the void to escape.

    摘要： A pair of generally T-shaped runners, each including first and second flanges and a spline, are joined together forming an H-shaped wall construction member. When assembled, each flange is connected to a wall member and a plurality of spaced interconnecting clips are formed between the splines of the pair of runners. The interconnecting clips allow the runners to be readily assembled by sliding the runners together in the horizontal or vertical directions and readily disassembled by sliding the runners apart in the vertical direction.
