Abstract:
A drive assembly moves a vehicle closure panel from an open to a closed condition. The drive assembly has a housing and a motor mounted on the housing. A drum and gear assembly is rotatably mounted on the housing. The drum and gear assembly has a drum having a helical groove, a gear in driving engagement with the motor, and a spring biasing the drum in a winding direction relative to the gear. The drum and gear have a lost motion connection therebetween. A cable has an end connected to the closure panel and an opposite end connected to the drum about the helical groove in the winding direction. The drum rotates in the winding direction relative to the stationary gear as the closure panel is manually moved from the open to the closed condition with the spring maintaining a cable tension. The drum and gear rotate together in the winding direction upon energizing the motor effecting powered movement of the closure panel to the closed condition. The motor is afterwards energized in an opposite direction counter-rotating the gear relative to the drum back to a start position.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mechanism (1) comprising a shaft (3) and an element (8) provided with teeth (89) for co-operating with a catch (6) which oscillates during rotational movements of said shaft (3), for driving a closure means (T) of an opening (O). The inventive mechanism is also provided with a safety system comprising braking means (20) or means for blocking the catch (6) in its oscillatory movement, said braking or blocking means being controlled by means (8, 9, 30) for detecting the state of a spring (10) used to compensate the torque exerted on the shaft (3) by the closing means which can be an apron (T).
Abstract:
A support mechanism supports a hood in a raised position with respect to a vehicle to which the hood is pivotally coupled. The mechanism includes two pairs of arm members which are pivotally coupled to each other by a central pivot pin, and which are coupled between the vehicle and the vehicle hood. A flat coil spring is coiled around the central pivot pin and is attached to the arm members. The spring is biased to pivot one pair of arms and in turn the hood upwardly.
Abstract:
An emergency opening device for a swinging folding door or a swinging folding gate, using an electric motor drive with a switchable electromagnetic coupling for closing and opening the door panels. The door has an emergency opening device, whereby the emergency opening device consists of an elastic tension or compression device to which a pre-load can be applied during the closing of the door. The tension or compression device can be engaged in the drive shaft of the outer panel or in the vicinity of the main closing edge of the inner panel.
Abstract:
A mounting structure for a power window apparatus including an outer panel, an inner panel, a regulator, a window glass, a motor, and a seal member. The inner panel is separated from the outer panel by a predetermined distance and has a through bore. The regulator has a movable arm, which is arranged in a space formed between the outer panel and the inner panel. The window glass is fixed to the movable arm. The motor is connected to the regulator to drive the movable arm and open and close the window glass. At least a portion of the motor is arranged in the inner panel. The seal member is arranged between the motor and the inner panel to close the through bore.
Abstract:
A driver unit for a window regulator or winder for use in an automobile door, for example, includes a gear rotatably mounted on a base and having first and second shafts coaxial with each other and projecting from opposite sides of the gear, the first shaft being rotatably supported on said base, the gear having a support coaxial with the first and second shafts and a plurality of angularly spaced arms projecting radially outwardly from the support. A drum is rotatably mounted on the second shaft and has a plurality of angularly spaced cavities opening toward the support. A plurality of integrally joined dampers are disposed as pairs in the cavities, respectively, with one of the arms being interposed between the dampers in each pair. The gear is rotated by a motor mounted on the base to rotate the drum through the arms and the dampers to move a wire wound on the drum and coupled to the window glass for thereby moving the window glass in the automobile door.
Abstract:
A driving device employed in a window regulator comprising: a driving member including a shaft and an associating member having at least a notch portion; a drum adjacent to said associating member and having an associating projection capable of associating with said notch portion with some play in the rotational direction; and an elastic member urging said associating member in the rotational direction. According to the present invention, the shaking of the crank lever can be surely inhibited.
Abstract:
The operating mechanism for a window includes an electric motor fastened to a mounting plate which is a unitary zinc diecasting formed with bearings, backing surfaces, and retaining claws for the movable elements of the mechanism including a gear wheel driven by the motor and a circumferentially toothed segment meshing with the gear wheel. A guide sleeve pivoted on the plate slidably receives the window operating lever, one end of which is hingedly connected to a radial crank arm on the segment. Angular movement of the segment is limited by an abutment on the plate, and a spiral spring biases the segment away from the position of abutment in a direction to assist lifting of the window and to brake its descent.
